Unless I'm reading it wrong, the Phillies have 128 million dollars tied up into 7 players next season. The Astros entire payroll is under 15 million lol

But that means an OF of Mayberry, Brown &....Laynce Nix/Pierre. Don't see that happening either.

Yeah but there's a difference between spending and being ********.

I'll take Victorino. Rumor is they want lincoln and the Pirates offered Hughes. If they do move Correia to the pen like most think, we have an extra bullpen arm. I'd love to see a deal with Hughes and a prospect get it done.

For players on the Astros yes, but they are paying quite a bit to Wandy and Myers, but yea, that is ridiculous.

With Ruben Amaro, the two are synonymous.
It's funny being a Colts and Phillies fan, how awesomely they are paralleling.

Wait, Hanley to the Dodgers. Does that mean they won't get Vernon Wells?

That better be the case.
Give us Dempster or Garza, no need for Wells.
Not one team in the MLB has a need for Wells.

Finally Marte getting the call up. Hell yes. Makes you wonder if they decided they weren't willing to include him in a trade already.

I'm expecting him to be hitting in the 2 spot tomorrow, as he'll take Jones spot against a lefty starting pitcher. Moves Walker back to the 5 spot. Much like they have been doing with Sutton and Harrison when Jones sits.
I really want the Pirates to get a lead off hitter at the deadline. I'm tired of seeing Presley on top of the order.

At least you don't have Drew Stubbs hitting at the top of the order. He will quit hitting when Votto comes back.

You act like Stubbs is as bad as Presley. Presley's OBP is like .270 last I checked. He's been absolutely terrible as a lead off guy.
