NBA & NHL are also 30 teams no one seems to have a problem with that
4 is too small, 5/6 is awkward

I am well aware of the NBA and NHL using that horrible format. If I gave a crap about either league I'd absolutely have a problem with it.
4 is fine. 5 would probably be the ideal number, but there's not really any good way to implement a 5 or 6 team playoff in MLB. 8 is far too many. Especially since the season is so long. After 162 games you should be able to trim it down to the top 4 teams in each league.

Stuff looks real good GF. Anxious to see if curveball hangs like the first one though.

What's wrong with the new system?
It rewards division winners and makes the regular season mean something for them.
And wild card teams still have a chance but will have be at a disadvantage.
I think it's... fair.

Having it be a one game play-in is dumb. All season long you're playing series, so why then would it come down to single game elimination in the playoffs? If you could do a real 5 game series it'd be fine, but that's too big of a layoff for the division winners. Maybe a three games in three days series could be the solution.

His stuff is very very good. Problem is he hardly ever uses his change and also he loses his command in an instant. I would have left him down for more time even though he could easily be a 4 or 5 right now.

I actually kinda like this idea but it doesn't give the division winners that much of an advantage because they'd see the WC's ace. Although they are still getting a bye.
Hm.
But statistically I think just as many WC teams would get to the World Series because getting hot is usually part of it and they'd even have an opportunity to get hot in that first series AND still have their pitching lined up perfectly for the 'first' round against the division winner.
I'm sure the MLB thought the 3-game series idea up and for those reasons decided against it. Maybe some scheduling issues too.

Harvey could have used some more time, but I have no problems with him being up. I actually wanted this. Season is over anyway, let him learn in the bigs.

I understand this which is why I didn't argue more because he is super close. I'm just of the thinking lately you should dominate every level before you come up.

Hanrahan was absolutely TERRIBLE tonight, he was all over the place.
Still beat Houston, but that goes without saying.
