AJ Burnett could win 20 games this year.

NHL and NBA are both terrible. Regular seasons are damn near meaningless in both leagues. You could narrow the NBA to the top 8 before a single game has been played and be damn near perfect most years.
4 is such a small number that it makes the playoffs so rare and valuable for a lot of teams. But they play 162 games, so really by then we should know who the top 4 teams in the conference are. Adding more teams only makes the regular season mean less.

I would like to see MLB start the season later and end earlier then it does.

If the Pirates made the playoffs, what would their rotation be?
1) Burnett
2) McDonald
3) Wandy
4) Bedard or no one?
McDonald hasn't been particularly good since the ASB, right?
And Bedard is terribly inconsistent, right?

Announcer said 'straight pull hitter'. He's dead wrong? Weird.

he generally just hits it where ever it is pitched, you were pitching him inside obviously but he goes opposite field or right up the middle as much as he pulls it down the line
here are where his HRs have gone
http://hittrackeronline.com/detail.p...13&type=hitter
possibly ground balls are entirely different?

I would honestly send Karstens Game 1, followed by Bedard, Wandy, JMac, Burnett if the Pirates need a win at some point.
Bedard has pitched very well the last two starts and is looking like the pitcher he was the first 5-6 weeks of the season.
The rotation here on out should look like this:
1) Burnett
2) Wandy
3) JMac
4) Karstens
5) Bedard
If it is a must win game, I send Burnett out there, followed by Karstens.

I have faith in every pitcher we have at this point. Love not having a hole in the rotation that I expect to lose for the first time in well probably my entire life.
It'll be interesting to see what they do. Depends who's pitching well down the stretch I guess. Burnett is the guy I'd pitch in the wildcard play in game that's all I know.

Keith Law was loving on Harvey last night. I hope he does a little write up today about him. I'm glad he was at the game.

Woke up, and like the nerd I am I went straight to my cell and checked stltoday.com for any trade. Saw Ryan Dempster's photo on the front page and got all excited, had a half chub.....for nothing.

At this point, he is going no where. Cubs will try to get a pick out of it.

Does anyone have any ideas of where the Red Sox may be able to ship some of their trade chips (Beckett, Lester, Ellsbury, Crawford) while eating the least amount of cash?

No one is taking Crawford's contract.

This probably wouldn't happen, but I probably wouldn't be too angry about a Soriano for Crawford swap. Although, I have an irrational love of Crawford.

Dunno if it makes sense.
Angels like Shields but they have to give up several prospects for him. Beckett is 2 years older. If Red Sox pay half of Beckett's remaining on contract then Angels could give C Hank Conger to Red Sox. 7.75mm saving for each next 2 years. I am not sure if it is enough.
Moving Crawford is largely helpful but I have no idea which team will take him for 15mm, let alone 20mm annually until 2017. Good Luck!

I wonder how Matt Carpenter is viewed by other teams. There's not many third baseman on the market and carp can play multiple positions.
