I don't know... The guy is pretty awful this year in his first full season.

I'm probably old school in thinking 24 is still pretty young.

Yeah. We get fascinated by guys like Trout and Harper. But 24 is young enough he can still become a good ball player.

I had a friend who thought drinking Muscle Milk would give him big muscles so he would drink 3 or 4 a day and sit and play video games all day.
Yeah, he gained about 25 pounds of fat that summer.

Muscle Milk is terrible. Just drink a lot of regular milk and protein drinks.

D'Backs have 4 left handed starters up right now: Saunders, Miley, Corbin, & Skaggs
Obviously Saunders will most likely be traded or Skaggs sent down but still very rare to see 4 LHP in a rotation

Of course the real test is to do it when there is something on the line but i like the approach by these young guys. They're probably still a year away from scaring anyone but there's finally something to look forward with this team.
On a slightly unrelated topic i was always good at picking the horses as long as i wasnt putting money down on them.

I don't think they can call him up so soon since they just sent him down. They brought up Tyson Ross in the meantime, but that's only out of necessity because he sucks. Once Griffin is healthy, it'll be interesting to see if they give that rotation spot to him or Straily.

naturally i jinxed him, infield single and bloop single
and gets out of it unscathed, I'd imagine he is done unless Gibby wants to push him to help the pen rest
7 IP, 4 H, 1 BB, 2 K, 105 Pitches, 68 Strikes
came out for the 8th too and struck out the side
8 IP, 4 H, 1 BB, 5 K, 116 Pitches, 77 Strikes

It is a little disappointing, but hey it was a mid-week game, against a struggling team, and a lot of teams would love a 35,000 person mid-week game. And we won, and lead the 2nd wild card!!!!

Ya I went to the Cubs-Reds game last Friday at GABP and there wasn't anywhere near 35,000 there. Granted, it was the Cubs but still. We did just break the record for sellouts at this ballpark in one season I do believe.

Just read this blurb on cbssports.com
The first half makes sense. We all know about the negative power of Wells.
Quote:
|
The anti-Longoria/Markakis is Vernon Wells. The Angels are 17-28 when Wells starts and they're 46-32 when he doesn't. It's really the gift that just keeps on giving from Tony Reagins.
|
But I was shocked to read this next part...
Quote:
|
Also, the Angels haven't won a series against a non-Cleveland team since taking two of three from the Royals July 23-25.
|
So you're telling me the Angels have lost a month of series apart from beating Cleveland? I knew they were in a slump, but that's as near a month-long freefall as you can get with Albert Pujols and Mike Trout on the same team. The Angels are 9-15 in that time. YIKES! Not how you prepare for a stretch run after acquiring an ace at the deadline.
