It's more of a "logic and reasoning will fail, so why bother anymore" argument.

Mike Trout should have won the last TWO years, but whatever.

Meh... In terms of WAR, Trout gets a ton of help from having average defense in centerfield compared to Cabrera's awful 3B defense because of the positional valuations.

Miggy had +32 wOBA and +16 wRC+ on Trout, and played the last month or so on one leg.

I mean, if Trout's defense was great, I'd listen to the argument, but it's not great...it's average. It's crazy to sit there and try to penalize Miguel Cabrera because his manager puts him in a bad position, defensively, simply because the other guy is an average defensive player in his ideal position. Trout had an argument last year, but Miggy deserved it this year.

I think they got all the awards right. Granted, they have had two months to think about it.....

Yea, miggy had a much stronger case this season. His bat was that good. Trout should have won it handily last season tho. I'm also surprised that Goldy didn't receive a single 1st place vote

Bob Dutton. Beat writer for the Royals. I don't see anything wrong with tossing a 10th place vote out for a guy like Sal.

If the two writers who didn't vote for McCutchen hadn't worked for a newspaper in St. Louis he might have (they voted for Molina).

That was a pretty funny article. A player that hits .297 is a probable hall of famer now.

Simmons is awesome, though.

Phillies had to beat other 2 teams' offer.

Still, 3 year contract to 35 years old catcher is crazy.

I don't think the Ruiz contract is bad, but the Reds giving Schumaker a 2 yr deal is pretty funny.

Yeah, I don't get this. I was fine with Skip as a utility bench player for the Dodgers, but not like...multi year deal fine.

I think it's the fact that Amaro is giving multi year contracts to players over 35 years old that make people question his decisions. 40 Million dollars committed to two guys who are 35 and 36 years, one of them appears to be in decline and the other just had a season which by all accounts will be hard for him to replicate, does not come across as smart.

When you throw in the extension they gave Utley in August, that's 67 million dollars between three players who are all 35 or older and don't have their best baseball ahead of him.
