Skip Schumaker to the Reds. Walt Jocketty loves to sign his ex players.

Josh Johnson signs with San Diego. I like them as a sneaky wild card contender.

Agreed. Josh Johnson and Ian Kennedy are huge additions for 2014.

It's insane that they were able to nab him for $8m/1y

I guess Pittsburgh was the runner up, but he wanted to play closer to home.

I want Dan Haren now for the Pirates.

ARod just appeared on Francesa and denied everything. Called out Selig. It was intense.

Isn't there a right to face your accuser, or something? I feel like this should mean Selig has to testify, right? Or are these arbitrator hearings just kind of like pretend court?

They are pretend court. Selig not showing up is a ******* joke, but ARod acting like he's mad about it is exactly what his camp wanted. This is perfect for him. Now he's the victim and people are going to question baseball. Lost in the narrative they want the public to perceive - that baseball ****** up and is treating him very unfairly - is that he probably did do steroids in connection with the scumbag Bosch lol.

My rationale behind this that 12 other players took their 50 game bans and none tried to fight it.

What i think ARod REALLY is pissed off about and fighting - is the idea that his offense deserved 211 games. And I kinda get his point of view on that. Now the catch is that he can't admit that publicly so he has to lie lie lie in order to even fight that. Which sucks for him. It's just a mess.

I mean the interview was fascinating.

They both painted Selig in a very negative light.

Financially it probably didn't make sense for other to fight it. One third of a 4 million dollar salary (example) for the suspension is less than it would be to fight it. A 211 game suspension for A-Rod is somewhere around 25 million dollars out of his pocket.

The main issue is that baseball chose the arbitrator and now he's protecting Bud. A lot of their evidence is apparently also stolen documents. MLB knew they were stolen and paid for the documents.

That was what they presented today but it's just so weak. If 12 people are suspended for something that they truly didn't do in a public light, AT LEAST one or two of the innocents will do whatever they can to clear their name, if not all. Baseball didn't just name 12 random innocent people.

Plus, what is the motivation of baseball to suspend Everth Cabrera and Valdespin? lol.

I agree with your second paragraph.

Their motivation to suspend guys like Cabrera and Valdespin is so they can also try to suspend A-Rod. If they went only after A-Rod, it would look like an even bigger witch hunt, which it is. I have no doubt A-Rod was still doing steroids, however I don't think MLB has anything they can use to suspend him. And if they do it should only be for 50 games.

I agree with that.

But I just don't buy that this is all unfounded. You don't get dirty if you don't play in dirt. And if you are wrongfully accused, you fight a very different fight than ARod is fighting right now.

I don't think you really believe that baseball suspended 12 innocents just to make it look they weren't singling anyone out. Those guys probably all associated with Bosch and took his PEDs. If you accept that, which really ou aren't being logical if you don't, then there is suuuuuuuuch a slim chance that ARod wasn't involved after being the 13th name.

I never really liked A-Rod but MLB is doing a good job of making him a sympathetic character. From the very first time someone accused him of being on that initial list of 104 steroid users, he should have just flipped out in the clubhouse like Big Papi did and maybe they would have dropped it. Probably not though.

I don't think they suspended 15 innocents. But I also don't think they would have suspended them at all if they didn't think it would lead to getting A-Rod in the long run. None of them had a failed test technically. Except for Braun's "tainted" one a year earlier.

I don't doubt they want ARod's head.

But I completely disagree. MLB wouldn't have ignored that stuff if AROd wasn't invovled. That's ridiculous.

I don't doubt they want ARod's head.

But I completely disagree. MLB wouldn't have ignored that stuff if AROd wasn't invovled. That's ridiculous.
I truly believe that. They paid for stolen documents. What were they trying to do by paying thousands of dollars for stolen documents? To suspend Everth Cabrera. Those guys just happened to be on the same documents as A-Rod.

Bud not show up means he does not care about Arod's money or his bs. Since Arod is guaranteed to be suspended at least 50-60 games, it is entirely up to the hearing whether or not to agree the original suspension.

Arod fights to keep getting paid from Yankees. Do you really think Bud should waste his time trying to clear off 25m+? Ha!

You clearly don't get Bud Selig.

I probably hate Selig hear the most because of his Wilpon connection and how he allows that dick of an owner to screw us good Mets fans. Selig is slimy as balls in this situation even though A-Rod is guilty. MLB has done a terrible job here.

Apparently the Rangers and TIgers are discussing a Fielder for Kinsler swap...
