From 2007-2010, 40 million dollars bought the Brewers...
29-36
5.08 ERA
1.59 WHIP
1.37 SO/BB
Thanks for everything Jeff Suppan, you will be missed...

That's more than we got for 40 million from Pavano. So it could be worse. Kei Igawa has only thrown 72 innings in the majors. That was over 40.

Atleast Suppan's 2007 wasn't bad. Wait until we see what the Mets got for Oliver Perez' 36 million after next year.

Yeah but where the Mets, Cubs and Yanks have been screwed by big contracts to failing pitchers, the Brewers were completely handicapped by Suppan's deal. The Yankees were able to cut ties and still sign better players, but Milwaukee was forced to sit and stew in Jeff Soup-an for a couple years.

I wish I had a certain emoticon for this...
As much as I hammer Suppan though, I was actually kind of excited when Milwaukee brought him in after his postseason run with St. Louis.

Once again you trash Byrnes without realizing the fact that he's made far more good moves than bad.

Not to add fuel to the fire, but even the Orioles gave up on Eric Byrnes.

Takes an interesting look at why pitchers being injured is so common now. Also some techniques on how Matsuzaka and Glavine/Smoltz/Maddux were relatively injury free.

Everyone always mentions these good moves, but we're last again with no farm system, what exactly were they?
