It's nice to hear that Carlos Santana is testing well after that ugly ass collision he had yesterday.

I think I'd rather have Tom Berenger from Major League as a catcher than Gerald Laird.

Brennan Boesch needs to be batting ninth, or sent down...he is in the worst slump that I have ever seen..

His brother is becoming a nice little prospect.

This team could be pretty f'ing scary if Morneau comes back near 100%.. Delmon and Mauer are heating up.. Liriano looks like it's 2006..
That's a big if.. Morneau has a history of concussions.. I think there's a realistic possibility that he doesn't come back at all this season.

Jake Taylor's little brother, James, is tearing up the Mexican Leagues right now. Although I hear he has bad knees and has a tendency to steal the bullpen car like his brother to chase after tail.

Yeah 25 HRs (23 in AA and 2 so far in AAA) as a 22 year old. Kind of came out of nowhere. Pretty much better than Gerald is now.

A candy bar is better than Laird.

I was so happy that we got rid of Laird... until we ended up with Jarrod Saltalamacchia. :/

You should be glad you got Salty considering what else came with him.

Never would have guessed that Salty would be the bust of the group. He was the gem...well, you could certainly argue Elvis was. But still, two of the biggest prospects in the game, at the time.

What was the exact trade? Also, the Tigers may get a win!

The Braves/Rangers trade?
Braves got:
1B Mark Teixeria
RP Ron Mahay
Rangers got:
C Jarrod Salty
SS Elvis Andrus
P Matt Harrison
P Neftali Feliz
P Beau Jones
Feliz and Jones were essentially throw ins. Feliz was rated highly, but he was a late addition to the deal. At the time, their biggest gets were Salty, Andrus, and Harrison.

Wasn't texeira a free agent after that year anyway? Great trade for the Rangers...

I know this is the baseball thread, but wtf happened to her? I was looking at the mlb boxscores on Yahoo and saw a link that lead me to the before and after shots of the Baywatch cast 20 years later....

One of the worst trades in MLB history...but the Braves system still remains strong to this day, luckily. Could have been so much better, obviously. I have no regrets...although, I felt better because we had Yunel here anyway, but he's gone now too.
Tex never played a full season for the Braves. He played out the season he got traded and then spent half a year on the team the following year, and was traded for f'ing Kotchman and a really ****** reliever named Stephen Marek, who again, is terrible.
Then we turned Kotchman over for Laroche...who dominated for half a year and we let walk in favor of Troy Glaus...who cant hit anything these days. sigh.

No, he had another season after that but the Braves traded him midseason for Casey Kotchman.

So, what do you think of Manny Acosta? I never got to ask.
He was a solid Brave, just the odd man out.

I'll judge this based on how this 8th inning goes.
