Second time JV has lost a no-hitter in the 8th inning this year.

None of that matters. Lyle Overbay just hit a HR. And probably doubled his rbi total of July.

Not a big Ludwick guy, but that should be a nice upgrade.
Edes is reporting that the Red Sox are working on something big in "lockdown mode", which means nothing is going to happen and he's just making **** up again.
Also, both the Red Sox and the Yankees supposedly inquired about Wandy, but the price was too high.

Apparently, Edes was right. Sox reportedly acquired Erik Bedard. Details to come. Tim Federowicz was pulled from Portland.

Stark is saying the Bedard thing is a three team deal with Fedex landing with the Dodgers. Still foggy.

An arm is an arm. Even if this arm got molywhopped (it's a word!) in his last start

I like this move a lot, provided the cost is comparable to the Harden deal. Everyone has bad starts, won't read to much into it. He's hurt all the time, but he has a proved track record pitching in the AL East and still has good stuff. Don't expect him to remain healthy the entire season, but he's a real good pickup for the touch and go stuff with Clay Buchholz.
Edit: It appears the Mariners also picked up groundball specialist Stephen Fife in the deal and **** strikeout specialist Juan Rodriguez. They've flipped those guys to the Dodgers for K/BB specialist Trayvon Robinson.

RT @Buster_ESPN: Bedard to BOS: Federowicz, 2 other minor leaguers to LAD, Trayvon Robinson, Chih Hsien Chiang to SEA for Bedard, Fields

****. I was hoping to hold on to Chiang. Really re-established himself this year.
EDIT; We got Trayvon Robinson, not the Mariners.

The M's are really bad, so people dont seem him much. But Bedard's legit. His first 5 starts were bad because he was just building up arm strength. The rest of his 10, top of the rotation stuff. Also worked late into games, something he's had a problem with for a while. The last injury was a fluke. Nothing on his arm.

Can you elaborate on TR? I know nothing about him. Is he a good prospect/player?

OK. Wow. This was confusing, but clearing up. Robinson is going to Seattle.

Bos gets Bedard, trade Federowicz, Lin, Fife and Rodriguez. Dodgers get Federowicz, Rodrigiuez and Fife. M's get Lin, Trayvon Robinson

Now saying it's Lin, not Chiang. REALLY hope that's the case.
Edit: It was Chiang. **** Seattle for being smart.

M's get both Chiang and Trayvon. Wow. Impressive deal for the M's. I still dont get it for the Dodgers though.

Chiang is a legit prospect, I think anyway. He struggled his way up, but has really come into his own this year. Large part of that supposedly has to do him discovering that he has diabetes and getting that under control. His glove needs some major work though, still very raw as an outfielder and profiles to be average at best there.

The M's major league outfield is brutal. Ichiro is OPS is in the 500s and Gutierrez is in the 400s. They also have 0 major ready OF prospects either. In that sense, the trade is a huge upgrade. They'll try Chiang at LF for as long as possible though.
