He has all the talent in the world. His problem has been his refusal to take coaching on his approach at the plate. his time here has made me skeptical he'll ever do that but hey I'm biased and if he does you have something.

I'm not his biggest fan, but I appreciate the gamble we took.

I bet those were breaking balls that broke over the plate but the catcher caught them low. For whatever reason umpires don't understand that those are strikes.

Same as Verlander, I believe.
Glad he won't be gobbled up by the Yanks or the BoSox.

ugh...thanks Nalej (hated the Lackey signing even if they got him for 1m/1y).
Between Fitz signing and now this....Kansas City just got a giant gut punch. But why would you leave the Angels? Always competing and a big market.

Anyone else get a lot of enjoyment out of Bobby Valentine absolutely tearing in to Starlin Castro? That was fun.

The last time the Twins gave u the division....oh wait they let u lead the division the whole year and then wait til game 162 to win the division. And then the game 163 thing. But oh yeah I digress, cuz the Twins aren't important in this cuz that year they lead the division all year but lost the lead on the last day they still got the wild card, went onto win the AL, were supposed to win the World Series in 3 games against a crappy NL team....oh wait, they lost. YAY CARDINALS!

The Twins placed Jim Thome on waivers, and Travis Hafner was put on the DL. If the Indians don't claim Thome, they are the dumbest franchise in sports. Just seeing Thome in an Indians uniform again will make missing the playoffs that much easier. Not to mention, it will sell a lot of tickets.

Then again, the White Sox will probably claim him too.

Thome would be foolish to block a trade to a contender, but the Twins will not move him without his full blessing. He likes it here, I guess. His first choice would probably be Philadelphia because of Manuel, but I could see him going back to Cleveland or Chicago too.

I don't think so. Thome is going into the HOF as an Indian, and he and Manny Ramirez talked about playing there for cheap just a few years ago.

Even though it makes absolutely no sense to keep him I actually really want to keep him. Thome is too awesome.
Just please, please stay away from Chicago so I can root for you.

The AL Cy Young winner-to-be just threw up this stat line vs. Tampa:
7 IP, 3 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 3 BB, 8 K
Only run came on a solo homer to Matt Joyce on the first pitch of the game. If the bullpen holds, it's win #19.
