From Fangraphs:

Like the Miguel Olivo trade last year, the Jays have picked up a player on the cusp of Type A free agency. In fact, he’s the highest projected non-Type-A free agent in the National League middle infield, mere percentage points from Type A status. Given the fact that J.J. Hardy signed an extension, Johnson should occupy the same place in the AL structure. Hill has no chance of Type A status.

He's percentage points away from Type A. It's very possible he stays as a B but it's also possible if he does well statistically the last month here he can jump up. Hill is terrible and you're going to have to buy him out at the end of the year.

Just a small sample size, but Revere's UZR-150 is 20.4, good for third among centerfielders with at least 500 innings played at the position. Bourjos is at 15.8..
ps: Death to Flying Things is so unreal in the field

You really really can't look at single season UZR leaders, especially this small of a sample size.

Curtis Granderson last, ha!
Gardner actually hurts Granderson's UZR, thats the absurdity of the stat.

I really hate arguing defense with people. The only somewhat usable stat is UZR and that has so many flaws it's fair when people shoot it down. That just leaves us with the eyeball test which makes everyone think their favorite player is Ozzie Smith in the field because they make a few diving catches.

Well, Ozzie Smith was actually an amazing defender. It's not like he's Torii Hunter, excessively overrated because he made a few good catches here and there but isn't even close to Andruw Jones.

Eh, most of the voting sizes aren't big enough to completely remove personal bias. I'd say if each player had an even distribution of 5000 voters it'd be a lot more valid. It isn't horrible though.

I don't know the exact number of users in each but it still is the least biased that has an eyeball test associated with it. Unfortuantely there are to many facotrs to consider in defensive play where we'll probably never have it properly evaluated. Field F/X should help though in the near future.

I think FP is the most relevant stat to determing how good a baseball player is.

Can John Mayberry possibly be a starter in this league? He's streaking right now.
Via Stark's Twitter:
John Mayberry up to 9 HR in 87 AB since recall 7/5. Only NL players w more: Uggla, Stanton, Pujols, Upton, Ramirez, Votto, Hart. Good group!

The Tigers just held the Rays to 1 run with Brad Penny, Daniel Schlereth, Ryan Perry and Phil Coke.
The apocalypse is upon us.
