I wouldn't fear that too much. At this stage they mostly follow where their love of the game is greatest at. The new rookie cap in the NFL makes it less attactive for football players. If you can be good in any sport, the sport that pays the best is baseball.
This is a great move for baseball because those prospects were getting outta hand with their demands.

When it comes to International players, the Rangers don't hold back. There's a chance, but yeah... he could go anywhere since a ton of teams like him.

Royals sign Jon Broxton pending a physical. I guess the terms are 4 million and he's going to be the set up guy. Yikes, that's a lot of coin for a set up man.

That's a lot of money for a pitcher coming off an injury like that.

I was hoping for the Tigers to look at him as a low risk type signing, but $4 million?!

Amaro was considering offering him $10.

Hanrahan is on the block. I'd be sad to see The Hammer go, but his value is in top form. I think they could get a nice package for him like a first baseman and/or a starting pitcher.

Would love to see him come to the Sox. I think he would cost too much though.

I could see the Pirates asking for Lowrie and/or Renaudo. That's just a start, though. JMO.

Pirates signed Nick Evans to a minor league deal and invited him to Spring Training. Heard of the name, don't know much of the player, though. I'm guessing he could win a spot as a back up OFer.

Yeah he can play 1B as well. Straight platoon guy as he can only hit lefties.

Bobby V to the Sox to be officially announced tomorrow, pending a contract. Not a fan, but I'm so totally checked out of this off-season with the way things have been handled at this point.

I actually don't think it's a good hire though. Bobby V does his best work with younger players on the up not career vets like the Red Sox have. I'm kind of surprised he wanted the job with all those ego's. Also, by managing in the AL you take all the strategy he loves to use. He wasn't crazy like LaRussa but he put the team in position to win more than most.

Broxton is good for Kansas City, but did they get any starting pitching yet?
