Not really. Yankees want to get back under $189 million. Because they don't want to pay the luxury tax anymore. Especially since it will be going up to 50% for them. They haven't really shown interest in anyone this off season. Unless something really interests them I think they're ok heading into the season without any upgrades.

Well they need to do SOMETHING to their pitching staff.

Eh, they were 11th in MLB and 4th in the AL in ERA last year. They coasted to the best record in the AL in September, they just didn't get timely hitting in the postseason. But the postseason is a crap shoot. They seem to be happy with the same staff with some of their bigger prospects in the high minors to fill in if necessary.

lets face it, they were lucky as hell with Garcia and Colon pitching the way they did. They need pitching help badly if they wanna win a championship.

I agree. I just can't expect Colon and Garcia to pitch as well as they did last year.

Only Garcia will be back it seems. He won't pitch that well but for a #5 if he even does what he did the past few seasons before this past one, it wouldn't be terrible. There are certainly many worse pitchers than him in the AL. But we have young arms to back him up.

I just have my doubts with Nova as a number 2. He pitched great last season, but was he a product of the Yankees' run production?

Mets agree to terms with Jon Rauch. Now that is a great response to losing one of our best players.

Mystery team offers 10 years to Pujols.
Baseless speculation by me: Texas, San Francisco, Mariners, Jays, Pir-ahaha

We're actually close to a trade as well described as a change of scenery for both sides.

Rumor right now is Angel Pagan for Andre Torres and Ramon Ramirez. I don't know much about Ramirez but his numbers last year for the Giants were promising.

That's fantastically confusing considering Andres Torres is Angel Pagan...

It's a done deal pending physicals. Pagan and Torres are a wash but we get Ramirez out of it at least. Mets trying to "stack" the bullpen tonight.

Wow the bullpen moves continue. We signed Frank Francisco to a 2 year deal. If anything we might have a good bullpen next year with all these moves.

Rauch - 1 year $3.5 million
Francisco - 2 years $12 million
It's a shame we're still going to be the worst team in the division.

Twins paid 4.5 million next year with a 6 million dollar option the next for freaking Matt Capps.
Terry Ryan was supposed to be better than Bill Smith...

He's actually one of the more underrated closers and in this market it's a fine deal. We have extra money to spend so it's not like one million more to him is going to matter.
