Can everybody shut the **** up (and by everybody, I mostly mean national media) about Miguel Cabrera being a defensive liability? Every single game I see him make skilled plays, and not just the routine stuff.

Unfortunately there are a lot of idiots out there. Just like everyone thinks Molina is still a liability with the bat. It's like NOO the player can't improve man, remember five years ago..

He's made some solid plays, but he has no range. He's fine within his own zone, but if it's too far to his left...

It's not that bad. If he misses one ball every three games because of range, no one cares.

It's pretty bad. It's more like every other game. I could live with it if we didn't have the same thing but with a little better positioning in Peralta at short.

This season reminds me of the year we traded for D-Train and Cabby and we were projected to score a **** ton of games and then lost like our first 12 games of the season. The offense that we were supposed to have is non-existent. Hopefully it gets better. It would probably help if Leyland didn't put a different line up out every game, how about some continuity? The bright side of the season is that Miguel isn't nearly as bad defensively as everyone thought he would be, and the face that the pitching staff is shaping up nicely with Smyly exceeding expectations and Fister getting healthy, along with the sexiness of JV. In the end, I hope talent wins out, but i've never seen a manager do less with more than Leyland.

20-11!!! God this Cardinal team is so fun to watch, so much depth on this team and you get a guy like Lance Berkman back this weekend and a bulldog like Chris Carpenter back around the all-star break. The only thing I'm concerned with right now is that 7th-8th inning we really don't have a dominating guy in that slot, which could change if/when Carp comes back and Lynn is put in that role, and the 2nd LOOGY on the team, Romero is pretty bad. This team might be on par with the 04-05 teams.

And you have a top 10, arguably top 5 Farm System in baseball, that will just get stronger with five selections in the first 60 picks this year.

And Mitchell Boggs hasn't been amazing either. I thought he might be the guy, but he has really struggled the last couple of games. And Zep was awesome tonight. Motte is obviously the answer at the end. We are getting some great starting pitching. I don't even know if I wanna see Lynn go back to the bullpen, he has been a great starter. But then who do u take out? Its a great problem to have!

My opinion Boggs still doesn't have the right mindset to be that dominating late inning reliever. He has the stuff to do it but when something goes wrong he kind of blows up, one thing goes wrong and you better get someone warming up in the Pen. Kind of like Motte a few years ago and look where Motte is now, so maybe Boggs will get past it.

Lynn back to the Pen might not be a popular move but it does really solidify that bullpen giving us a strong 8th and 9th inning guy. And I wouldn't mind the Cardinals bringing up Sam Freeman to be that 2nd Lefty Specialist.

Stupid? no it really wouldn't. Don't say...well uh just move Jake Westbrrok down there, **** that, being a Reliever is totally different then being a Starter. Yes Lance Lynn is 6-0 and yes his future with this team is as a Starter, but for this season he has to go back to the Pen when Carp comes back.

No, he doesn't. He's the most talented guy on that staff besides Waino, and moving him to the bullpen when he's pitching this well while his future is as a starter would be mind mindbogglingly stupid.

You've come to that conclusion after six starts? Really?

It's not whether or not he can be a starter, it's what role is he more valuable in THIS SEASON, and when everyone is healthy Lance Lynn is more valuable in the Bullpen.

What other options do you have? No team is going to trade for Jake Westbrook or Kyle Lohse, none of them have experience pitching as a Reliever, your certainly not going to send Chris Carpenter down there.

As the season goes and Lance Lynn piles up the innings there's always a concern with guys that they could develop a dead arm, happened to Kyle McClellan last year (started out 6-1 3.11 era) and toward the end of the year and for the playoffs he was pretty much useless. Lynn has never thrown more than 164 innings in his Professional career. If you want to think about a 6-man rotation, while I don't think I've ever seen it, it could possibly work, the extra days rest for a guy like Lynn and Waino could be really helpful in September, but you also have to take into consideration that so many Starters are used to that 4-day program between starts that it could throw off things a bit for them, And with a guy like Garcia who's a bit of a nutcase to begin with, do you risk it.

meh, I'd rather this sentence have said Westbrook. But I don't wanna get rid of any of them. The simplist and way to make the Cardinals the best possible staff is move the 6-0 Lance Lynn to the Pen. Yes, its unpopular, yeah it might be a bit "stupid", but a 6 man rotation way too much man, and Lohse, Garcia, and Westbrook have not in anyway shown a reason to be moved elsewhere, so Lynn going to be our 8th inning man will prolly make us our best. Plus, its not bad to have a backup plan with Carp, Waino, and JAIME's injury histories.

Plus, its not bad to have a backup plan with Carp, Waino, and JAIME's injury histories.
Lynn has options right? Just keep in him in AAA. One of the pitchers will stop performing or be injured in some way.

He's their best pitcher right now why in the world you send him to AAA? That's even worse than sending him to the bullpen.

Just a personal belief that sending a guy to the bullpen and starting is not the best way to deal with a pitchers routine.

He has been really good but also pretty lucky. BABIP is hovering around 200 (career is in the minors is more north of .300 last year in AAA it was .344) and a LOB% that is really high around 94% (career in the minors is somewhere around 75%).

But more to my original point I hate when guys go into relief and either pitch every other day or don't pitch for a week or so at a time. Then something goes wrong and he has to make a spot start. I would rather to have my players to continue to have a routine of starting every 5 days.

Westbrook will win 20 games this season. Lynn will fizzle.

This is what i was thinking. In the six games against Seattle he had no ability to charge anything and make a play. Granted i only see the guy when they play Seattle and admit he is one of the two or three best pure hitters in the game but he isnt Brooks Robinson.
