Shayne Graham is still not "officially" a Raven. He's just on the radar.

Also, I got ordered an Anquan Boldin jersey over a Ray Rice, Haloti Ngata, Jarret Johnson and Michael Oher In black. Good choice?

Personally I would have gone for the JJ jersey, but nothing wrong with rocking the Seminole love

I remember when he had 12 sacks and 6 FFs as only a 3rd down specialist. He has had a great career but I expected more

Has it been injuries slowing him down, or what? Not that he's been bad, but his rookie year was his best year and as you said he wasn't even a full time player, or as good as he would be yet, I figured he'd have racked up a few 15+ sack seasons at this point but he's still a monster.

His only injury was this year when Quinn took him out at the knees. I am not complaining he is a good player, he is beast at coverage and possibly the best run stpopping 34 OLB in football. But he isnt that superstar pass rusher.

He's real solid vs. the run and is great in pass coverage as well. He IMO has developed into a really solid overall OLB in the 3-4. I'm sure if we asked him to be a full-time pass rusher, he could definitely put up 10+ sacks a year.

as for last year, he bulked up(to the point where he was considered over-weight) and because of that, lost a lot of pass rushing ability. However, this off season, he has stayed in Baltimore and been working out with the team for the first time.

Me, along with many raven fans believe he will have a much better year in 2010-11

Raven fans,

Frank Walker was drafted in the 10th round of the UFL Draft!

We no longer have to worry about him stepping onto the field anymore. No more boneheaded PI's either!!

Just because he was drafted doesn't mean he's going to play there. I think there's a chance he might if there hasn't been any interest in him from NFL teams, but I wouldn't say he's gone for sure yet. Sadly.

Of course Pitt-Baltimore is the best rivalry in football. Hell, I'd put it up there as the biggest rivalry in all of professional sports. It don't matter if all of our top players are out, it'll be a close game. I'd seriously put this rivalry up with the likes of Mets-Yankees, Yankees-Red Sox, Canadians-Maple Leafs, Celtics-Lakers, etc. It's really a privledge(I know I spelt that wrong) to see these two teams beat the living hell out of each other twice a year.

I loved how when the Rivalry thread was brought up awhile back, Ravens and Steelers fans were stupid for saying we had the best rivalry over Bear-Vikings, Vikings-Packers, Packers-Bears.

people just say that because we dont have longevity, but in our short 15 years it has been better then anything. We really are lucky to be apart of it.

Exactly. If you look at what rivalries are really the most intense in the NFL, its the one's that lasted over a 5-10 year span. Raiders-Steelers in the 70's, Dallas and San Francisco in the 90's, and now Ravens-Steelers is the rivalry of this decade. Some of the rivalries that have the longevity never had even close to the same intensity that those one's I mentioned had.

That is true, some idiots will claim Colts VS. Pats are the best rivlary, but thats a Manning VS. Brady media hype rivlary.

Ours isnt a media hype rivlary at all, to show how important it is to the players and all, look back at the 2002 season I believe. we had them on primetime final game of the year, we locked up the playoffs and the steelers were locked out. If we won the game we still wouldnt have improved our seed. So you would think every starter would be benched after 4 plays, but Billick played every starter through OT just to beat the steelers on our home field. That shows how important this rivlary really is.

Exactly, only reason the Pack, Vikes rivalry has any relevance at all right now is tied to Brett Favre.

And really is it a rivalry if one team is beating the piss out of the other.

Those other rivalries have more history I admit. Currently there is no other rivalry in the NFL like Ravens-Steelers. The games are just so physical and consistently a good game. Even when one team is having a down year, the game is still tough.

“He’s a crafty route runner,” said Ravens director of college scouting Joe Hortiz. “I’m being honest – he was one of my favorite guys in the Draft. He’s got really good hands, really good body control and excellent toughness. He’s 6-foot, 190 pounds, and you’ll see him go over the middle of the field like he’s 6-2, 220 [pounds], and he gets hit like he’s 6-1, 190. He’ll get knocked back and snapped, but he jumps right back up, and the next play he’s catching the ball over the middle of the field. So, he’s just a really tough, aggressive wide receiver with some playmaking ability.”

That is the scouting report on Reed, everyone on here had no idea about him when we originally picked him. He sounds like a lil Derrick Mason we will see how the battle for WR spot 4-5 goes down.

We have not been asked to make our Super Bowl predictions yet, but I am leaning toward selecting the Baltimore Ravens. That isn't set in stone and I worry about their cornerbacks to some degree. But I also have some small concerns about Joe Flacco when comparing him to the elite quarterbacks in the league. Is he ready to be a Super Bowl-winning QB?
Don't get me wrong, I am a fan of Flacco. In fact, I helped recruit him to Pitt and have been watching him since his junior year of high school. He is a high-quality person, hard working and very intelligent. You can see that by the way he has adapted to the NFL.
But later in the 2009 season and in the playoffs, I saw things in Flacco's game that I didn't like. He didn't show great poise and wasn't assertive. I tend to think that his injuries were worse than any of us knew.

But considering that Flacco is entering his third season, he has progressed very well since entering the league. Remember, this is a 25-year-old quarterback whose team already has experienced quite a bit of postseason success with him under center.

Physically, Flacco can rival any QB in the league. He has a monster right arm and can threaten the defense at every level. The opponent has to defend the entire field against Flacco. He is a tough guy who isn't afraid to get hit in order to deliver the football at the proper time, and he uses his size well to scan the whole field. He is improving with his touch, knows when to take something off his fastball and is capable of making plays with his feet.

Still, Flacco is not on par with the big boys at the position right now. He needs to take his game to another level for the Ravens to win the whole thing.

Flacco didn't get much from his receiving options in 2009. Derrick Mason was a fine safety blanket who can consistently move the chains and Ray Rice is developing into one of the better receiving backs in this league. Those two things should hold true again in 2010.

The Ravens' front office has also added more prominent options to make Flacco's job easier and to keep opposing defenses honest against Baltimore's run game.

The Ravens do not have a lot invested in Donte' Stallworth, but he has a lot of natural ability and is a desperate player who is probably on his last chance in the NFL. Stallworth can get deep, which is exactly what this offense needs for its running game and to create underneath routes for Mason and the recently acquired Anquan Boldin. Boldin is terrific after the catch. He is exactly the physical player that this organization covets.

Baltimore also added two rookie tight ends with some field-stretching ability in Ed Dickson and Dennis Pitta. The Ravens have more diversified skill sets in their pass-catchers now than in recent memory. That versatility should provide Flacco with more opportunities than ever to exploit defenses on a week-to-week basis depending on how the opponent decides to match up.

I expect the Ravens to throw more often this season and further trust Flacco to get the job done. That approach worked well early in the 2009 season, when the Ravens scored 30 or more points in five of their first seven games. But it also puts more pressure on Flacco.

Interesting article on Joe Flacco.

What do you guys think about Flacco?

Is he ready to take that next step and enter the conversation when of the Aaron Rodgers, Phillip Rivers, Mannings, Bradys etc..

If we can stay healthy...Big If....This could be the year of the Raven, with the large potential this team does possess...Flacco should have amassed an arsenal in this offseason. Rice may be as open or even more open and dangerous in the backfield and matched with his bowling ball attack....We could see something special. If Rice is covered Joe can throw to Bolden, if Bolden is covered Mason would get a look. Stallworth in the wode open could be a potential option and in the right situation could have a few deep TD's this season. The trio of Rice, McGahee ,McClain is gonna be scary. Mix that in a pot, with the TE Trio of Heap, Dickson and Pitta. Flacco is looking to make a leap into Elite convo and I like his confidence. '
