sweet. as long as he's healthy and back to full strength, we should be a key part of our pass rush late in the season once he gets the playbook down.

94 is a sick number too. Good to see him getting back into the swing of things. I love his versatility in our defense and I hope we use him everywhere. During pre-draft stuff, me and Toonster were coming up with a comparison for Kindle in IRC and we decided on Karlos Dansby...I'd love to see us use him similar to Dansby when he was younger in Zona...all over the field.

going back in Ravens history, I see a little Peter Boulware in Kindle. He gives us a great pass rusher who can play 43 DE, 43 SLB, and 34 OLB.

SMU cornerback Bryan McCann was claimed by the Ravens, according to his agent, John William Biggins. 'Bryan is very excited.'

I assume we'll be cutting Miller now.

yeah I think we will move Miller to PS anyway. But McCann will probably be cut when Carry Williams gets off his suspension.

Yeah I don't think there's any doubt about that. Dallas fans seemed to like McCann though (on this site and another) and they say he's fast with good technique. Honestly I'd probably rather keep McCann and Williams when he comes back, perhaps cut/trade somebody from our surplus of NT or ILB.

We cut Miller for McCann. No surprise there. Now my question is who will return punts? My guess is Zbikowski

Your guess seems flawed to me because why risk him out there on punts when Reed is on the PUP List?

I'd say McCann will be the PR for us. He was a returner in the pre-season for the Cowboys and one in college. IMO he'll be better than Miller was.

yeah McCan will be our PR. I slipped up about that.
Also I love the Housh pick up. Anytime your #2 WR becomes your #5 next season that is usually a good sign. I love this move!

I always thought Clayton "could" be the next Mason but he did have his fair amount of chances and he never did anything to prove himself.
It is time to move on, trade him(unlikely) and try and get a 6th rounder or find some decent corner and pull the trigger.

Both positive moves for the Ravens.

Thats a good pickup for the Rams, they can use all the help they can get at WR. Hopefully we got something like a 6th rounder for him.

Is anyone else kinda perplexed by the amount of players we're "upgrading" with from the NFC WEST?

Meh, I'm not worried about it. That argument doesn't hold much water IMO because football is a team sport, more so than just about any other. The individual players we're adding are definitely upgrades over what we had before. Let's look at the three former Seahawks we've added:
Corey Redding, replaces Dwan Edwards. I like the move from Edwards to Redding a lot, he provides more of a pass-rush from the position and is a more versatile player.
Josh Wilson, replaces Carr as the nickel back. No explanation needed, he will probably play on the outside if Webb isn't ready for week 1.
T.J. Houshmanzadeh, replaces Mark Clayton. Again, no explanation needed. Clayton is not a very good receiver and we know T.J. can at least do one thing well - move the chains.

Great post, I like all the upgrades so far.
I expect HOush to play the Kelly Washington role. Except probably better

By all means I understand the "football" reasons on why we brought in those 3 guys, for example, and how they fit into the scheme and what have you. Its just a bit odd to me how Seattle cleans house and for whatever reasons we're the ones that have been the clearing house for their jettisoned castoffs. We've "upgraded" with their "castoffs", you know? Kinda intriguing how each teams perspectives on those players. A talking point for lack of a better term
And I for one am sorry to see Mark Clayton go for peanuts almost. That selection was basically doomed from the start when we added Derrick Mason, since he and Clayton are basically the same receiver prototype. I wish him the best, as well as find it kind of ironic that St. Louis is his new team since thats where another former bust 1st round selection of ours ended up after being jettisoned. But yet again it ties us with that division, very intriguing.
Ah well, I'm sure one day we will be able to develop a WR selection but for heavens sake lets not give him jersey number 89 LOL

Us picking up players from Seattle has much more to do with the new regime imprinting their stamp upon the team then poor play. Wilson hasn't been a stud since being drafted, but he's been more then servicable and House went for 1000 on an awful awful team last year. We've seen good players get jettisoned from bad teams before due to new coaches or management attempting to establish their presence in-house.
