hats off to David Reed for leading the team in special teams tackles so far. I like that attitude in a WR. I think he can be a good slot WR in the NFL.

That strikes me as somewhat odd, but I'm glad he's making an impact on our team. If he ever gets reps on offense I think he could be effective too but that's not happening this season.

I think he needs to be given a shot at punt returns. Zbikowski hasn't impressed and we know what Chris Carr brings to the table.
As for kick returns, IDK why we benched Parmele for Wilson last game. I never had a problem with the way Parmele returned kicks. Guy was tough, determined and always seemed to bring it out around the 30-40. Only thing he lacks, is top end speed.

Pretty sure it had to do with needing Wilson active for secondary depth. Not sure if Jalen was even active for the Denver game.

Thats true. Have to make tough decisions on that gameday roster.

Meh, I'm not really. Peerman didn't even make it a full season in the league and I'd be very wary of his ability to hold onto the ball.

Peerman got cut by Lions and Browns. No reason to get upset about that.

I love how they tried not to review the drop by Welker. Absolutely pathetic that it took that long.
I liked Flacco performance, but the offense as a whole started great but sputtered towards the finish.
Tom Brady, is a big *** baby, also the biggest ***** in the NFL.
I said all week that if we won this game, we'd be an elite team in the NFL, but this loss, wasn't as bad as it could have been.
We got the Bills next week, we should pound em.

I agree I liked Flacco as well.
But when they adjusted to our D. Cameron just decided to give it to Rice a **** load of times.
Also first half on D we played close bump and run. 2nd half we played soft zone and got torn up.

yeah, we usually play the better 2nd half of football.
But taking a Patriots team that's undefeated off byes, and undefeated at home for 22 games to overtime is not that bad.
Also, Haloti Ngata is a 1 man wrecking crew.
I hope we drop 40 on the Bills next week. Looking forward to Ed Reeds return as well. Still think the Ravens are one of the top teams in the league.

me 2 but we gotta change our returners. Parmele sucked so far this year and for ***** sake Carr do a fair catch instead of letting the ball roll to our endzone.
If Webb is just our nickel put him back as a KR and a PR.

Same BS from last regular season in New England, Cameron totally goes uberconservative in the 2nd half and constant check downs to Ray Rice. Watching that 4th quarter and OT made me wonder why we get guys like Anquan and Housh.......
Man we need Ed Reed back in that secondary, without him back there they make no plays to cause turnovers. If he's back there the game is totally different.

Flacco-41/60 481 yards 8.01 YPA 2TDs 0INTs QB rating=103.542
Sanchez-38/60 418 yards 6.96 YPA 4TDs 0INTs QB rating=92.222
...
that is the stats of both the Pats and broncoes game combined.
Just something I wanted to figure out because I was bored. Flacco is underrated.

Flacco isn't underrated, he just plays in Baltimore and our media is nothing compared to the New York media.
But its more then that, Sanchez went to USC a big time program, whereas Joe couldn't hack it at Pitt, granted with Matt Cavanaugh as an OC yeah think about that, and came out of Delaware. Joe is still learning and growing, and even regressing in some ways each week. Like today's game for example in the 4th quarter and OT what was up with him focusing solely on Ray Rice? Its not the first time he's gotten this tunnel vision with him and when he does it usually costs us that game. It could be the play calling or just Joe buckling under the pressure or both, but its something he needs to conquer.

I agree w/ your last sentence, but IDK if the Pats made good in game adjustments or if Flacco was crumbling under pressure. Hopefully that question will be answered.

Joes stats since the Bengal mess
6 Touchdowns 1 Interception
999 Passing Yards 87/128
68% Completion Rate
7.8 YPA
103.6 Quarterback Rating
Taken off of the br.com board. I love to see that, knowing that Flacco didnt break after such a terrible game like CIN.

In response to however said Flacco had tunnel vision aimed strictly at Ray Rice.
I don't think that's a fair statement. Flacco had enough time to throw, made all his reads and THEN checked down to Rice.(most of the time) It was more of New England's defensive backs playing a lot better (tight, bump and run) that forced Flacco to check down to Rice. It's not like he dropped back, and looked directly at Rice, he clearly scanned the field before doing so.
Also, I think this is a GREAT write up - 5 Things We Learn in the Ravens 23-20 loss.
Also,
what do you guys think with the possibility of Shawne Merriman joining the Ravens?(if he clears the waivers)

I've been a supporter of Merriman coming to the Ravens since it was first reported that he was going to be cut by the Chargers. Somebody on another forum even that that on ESPN's pre-game show Mort and/or Schefter said that Merriman would like to play for the Ravens or Dolphins. IDK how true that is, but it's a good sign that he'll come here if he does.
With how anemic our pass rush has been outside of the semi-inconsistent Suggs and Ngata we could really use a boost. Now Merriman isn't what he was or even somewhat close, but he would be an upgrade over either of the current backup OLBs (Jones and Burgess). It would also allow us to play Johnson less, who has had a rough season thus far. If we had Kindle this year it would definitely be a different story, but if we pick up Merriman on a cheap one-year contract (ala the Houshmanzadeh deal/situation) I think it could only help us.

yeah, if we can get him cheap, I'm all for it. He'd be motivated and out to prove he's still elite.
God knows we need all the help in the world when our leading sack"er" is a 350 DT. (not taking anything away from Ngata, guys a freak)
I posted that article above, but I really agree with what Kevin said about our pass rush, or our defense as a whole.
It's a lot more conservative, sit back in coverage, and let the opposing QB pick us apart. When we play HOF QB's, let alone, Pro Bowl QB's you aren't going to win if you drop 8 in coverage and blitz four down linemen. THEY'LL PICK US APART!
Mattison needs to learn that and realize that there are some great QB's in this game, bringing pressure is the only way to disrupt there rhyme and throw them off there game.
FIRE GREG MATTISON!!
