Best prospect nationally in 2011
Ohio Quarterback Braxton miller. If you haven't heard of him yet, you likely will start hearing about him very soon. Already has offers from just about every major school in the nation, yet he hardly even played as a sophomore (most of the offers were based off his freshman year performance + 3-4 sophomore games prior to injury).
6'2- 4.4 forty, lightning quick release, great accuracy, awesome arm strength. Literally, there is only 1 possible weakness one could point out with him, and that being he could potentially be an inch or two taller (although he'd likely lose some agility).
His highlight tape would be one of the top in the country based on throwing ability, or running ability.
Highlight reel is linked below
http://scoutingohio.com/index.php/vi...Braxton.Miller
Keep in mind all of this is either sophomore or freshman game film. Un-Real.

I prefer Teddy Bridgewater. The difference in the two is while Miller might be the slightly better runner he always seems to be looking to run while Bridgewater is always looking to throw.

Meh, I do agree that Bridgewater seems to want to pass more often, but on the passes that Miller throws, they're crisper, come out quicker, and he throws incredibly accurately to covered people. Most of bridgewater's passes (i havent seen as good highlights of him to be fair) were pretty rediculous as well, although I would say Miller is a little bit better of a runner. I think they're honestly 1a and 1b, but not even being a homer, I think between Bridgewater and Miller, they're probably both the best quarterback prospects in a long long time. And yes, I do think they're both better prospects than Terrelle Pryor. (perhaps not better overall athletes, but in terms of complete qb prospects.... they're both on a different level)
Regardless, Miller is the best quarterback prospect to have ever come out of ohio, and most of that is being based on freshman highlights.

Braxton Miller's release looks weird like Pryor's.
EDIT: Bridgewater has a much more fluid motion.

I like Miller as the best quarterback, but not the best prospect overall.
I really haven't narrowed it down to #1 but my top three are Aaron Green, Ray Drew and George Farmer.

Dominique Terrell from Virginia is a Percy Harvin clone.
LB Curtis Grant from Virginia will be a top LB.
Virginia OT Landon Turner is one of the top OL nationally, and he didn't even play last season.

Completely not the case. Pryor had a very side arm motion and wasn't a "quick" thrower.
Miller has an over-the top motion that releases as quick as just about any prospect in the country, and his passes zip out in perfect spirals.
Like I mentioned, I think Bridgewater and Miller are 1a and 1b, but I do think they're both better than Barkley was last year.

You guys must not know about the Black Mamba. DeAnthony Thomas from Crenshaw runs a 10.6 already as a Junior and will probably be the fastest RB from California.
Here's a highlight.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mMbhjzAWQuA
He and Aaron Green will contend for the top spot and overall #1. SC has a good shot at both of them.
As for Miller, I like his film. He does have good running ability and has a quicker release than Pryor. I definitely need to see more film of him passing, and in better quality. It's hard to see if his passes have that much zip or accuracy to then, and his mechanics I won't judge until I see them closer.

Gstock, is Miller a lock to go to OSU? If Pryor leaves after his junior year, Miller could step right in as a freshman.

Miller has been a Buckeye for years now. It's not a matter of if, but when.

How bout throwing Savon Huggins (RB from NJ) and Daniel Lasco (RB from TX) out there in this discussion. Both are damn good.

I caught a little of Bridgewater on espn while I was out at the bar the other night. I still say Braxton is a much better prospect. No disrespect to Bridgewater, but his throwing motion is long and he hasn't great mechanics.
I don't think Miller is a completely polished product alike to Matt Barkley and Jimmy Clausen, but I think he's got more raw potential than just about any quarterback I've ever seen. If we're comparing the differences between Miller and Bridgewater, I'd say they're both approximately the same on the field, although I'd say Miller has a much quicker release along with better overall accuracy.
Once again, this is partially conjecture based on highlight reels (which can't go to far considering they don't show the "bad" plays), but I can't think of a player i'd rather have than Miller right now.

Cross Miller off your lists guys. He has been terrible and is now suspended the rest of the season for punching his girlfriend in the hallway at school.

I live in the same city he plays football. I live next door to the head coach. I have brothers that go to high school with him. It isn't a rumor, it is 100% fact.

It's kind of sad when you go around spreading rumors (and yes they are rumors until proven by an official source) about kids... not adults, but kids in high school. Especially someone who is not even a senior yet.

Welcome to the interwebz!
Srsly though, get off your high horse. AkiliSmith lives in the area, and another outlet has said it as well. If you want Rivals or Scout to report it before you believe it, then right on bro. But don't get on anyone's case who, as far as they know, aren't spreading rumors but factual information.
Besides, the amount of media attention that these high profile recruits get puts them in the spotlight. When that happens, they become a target for discussion - especially on a recruiting forum. If Miller did in fact assault his girlfriend, and he's considered to be one of the best high school players in the country, then the issue should be looked at further.

Why would I, a 25 almost 26 year old Police Officer, intentionally start rumors about a 16 or 17 year old boy? What is my motive? I don't have a motive, because I didn't realize the ******** rumor that he was hurt is being spread around to not screw over his career. Everyone that ya know, actually lives in the area and goes to school with him knows the truth. Just because Dayton Daily doesn't have a front page article doesn't mean it's not true.
My brother has talked to people who saw the incident go down in the hallway. My father has spoken to dads of other players and they know it's true. I'm not making this up, I have no reason to. He punched the girl, a teacher saw it and Miller said, "Don't you know who I am?" As far as I know criminal charges are going to be filed but there is no way of proving it because he's a juvenile and it's not public record.
It's kind of sad that they only suspended him for 2.5 games though when it was supposed to be the rest of the season. I guess they realized they were crap without him after going 0-2.
