That'd be pretty sweet.

Nobody knows actually. Mike Reiss, who's a very respected Patriots beat writer, thinks that Welker will start the year on PUP. Others don't think that. Personally, IDK what to believe. Even if he's ready (85 - 90 %) he might be put on PUP by BB just so BB can see what he has in Edelman, Tate and Price. I wouldn't put that past him. Then Welker would be unleashed in week 7 and probably still have a 100 catches.
But overall my gut feeling is that he's on the team in week one and playing hard as always. He did a little work in minicamps and looks to be ready for training camp.

Mark Fields didn't earn that Pro Bowl nomination. What he did was amazing and I give him the utmost respect to returning to the NFL, but he sure as hell didn't play at a Pro Bowl level that season.
Honestly, both Fields and McGahee were much better candidates than Brees.

I'm surprised no one said Alex Smith yet. He seems to have a lot of supporters.
I'm going with Santana Moss. I think he breaks out with a real qb throwing him the ball.

Steve Smith on the Panthers.
Can't see him being quiet 2 years running.

4 years in with only two starts spells injury for the now full time Kolb. Not everybody can be Aaron Rodgers.

Can he be a nominee for this award? I figured the award was missing most of the last season, while he missed the playoff game only. I don't know much about the award just wondering.

With an ACL tear at the end of the season, he would likely miss most of this season so if he manages 100 catches and 1000 yards, I think he very well could win it.
I'm not 100% sure though, but I've heard his name mentioned before by people who should know.

To be fair, he was two years into his NFL career with an absolutely awful team. He was on the normal progression path for a young QB, and broke out in his third year. He wasn't coming back from anything.

Not to mention he got hurt at the very end of the year.

If the Raiders somehow make it to the playoffs, Jason Campbell might be a legit candidate.

Alex Smith hasn't had anything to come back from. If anything he could have a breakout season, not a comeback.

Considering the dubious nature of the award, Alex Smith might as well be considered as a candidate. If he had a really strong season in SF, he'd be just as strong a candidate as Drew Brees was (which is to say not at all for this award).

I'll vote for Merriman, a whole nother year to recover from knee surgery he should regain some of his explosiveness. No way all his sacks were from roids right?

losing 2 of the 3 starting DL in the last two years and not replacing them with equal or near the talent they were isn't going to help him. Plus one of those guys where the NT
I'm going to pick Chad Pennigton because it seems like he wins it every other year
