So Seattle, how does it feel?
Feels like we should probably wait til Harvin sees a specialist on Tuesday. Since the team doctors reportedly think he doesn't need surgery....maybe we should stop jumping to conclusions.

Well no ****? Easy to argue it was a bad contract now.

The Bucs over payed for a player that wasn't going to get them anywhere, the Seahawks were a title caliber team adding an X-Factor.

It's not just about the money, it's mostly the picks. The Bucs turned their 1st and 3rd into Revis and Glennon.

The Seahawks sent their first and 3rd for Percy.

Your justifying it because they got Glennon and traded their first for a guy who didn't play last year because he tore his ACL? Ok....good logic.

Seems like it comes and goes with em. This is one of the biggest list of serious training camp injuries I remember in quite a while

Is hip fracture what ended Priest Holmes and Bo Jackson? Anyone know any other players that had this injury? Gore had a broken hip a few years ago, but that's not close to fractured hip.

Is there anything else or is Pittas career in jeopardy?

well hes also the greatest cover corner and one of the best defensive players of his era, and is said to be making a full recovery and has no history of injuries or knee problems and Im pretty sure they did their homework on his rehab progress before trading for him. And they got him at a pretty nice deal where they can basically cut ties with him at any point if he isnt the same player, it is essentially a non-garunteed deal with a high yearly salary. The Bucs trade for Revis was IMO way better than the Hawks for Percy. The Hawks gave up more for Percy than the Bucs, while Harvin is not nearly the player Revis is. Revis has consistently been hands-down the best corner in the game for at least the last 5 years. Harvin is not even a top 10 receiver when he is 100%, which is rare. And the Seahawks gave him a deal that is over market value and incudes 15 mill in guaranteed money. Him and Victor Cruz both signed 6-year deals this offseason, and are very similar players. Harvin got 20 mill more than Cruz, is much less durable, and the Hawks had to give up a first and third to get him. Bad move IMO. The Revis trade? great move. You can go find a productive slot receiver/versatile playmaker (and the Vikings did in Cordarelle Patterson), they aren't that hard to find. You can't just go draft a shutdown cornerback, there are only a few of them that come along in a generation. IMO, the Seahawks have a great young core of talent but they really hurt their future when they do something like that. What they shoulda done was keep building through the draft, and I said this long before Percy got hurt (again).

Jets got more for Revis than the Vikings got for Harvin.....1st round pick was 10 or so spots higher and I think NYJ will get the higher 3rd round pick next year since I think SEA is better than TB.

MIN did get a 7th though....depends if you want the 7th or to pick 10 or so spots higher in round 1.....i'd take the latter. A GM would get laughed at if they offered a 7th round pick in an effort to move up 10 or so spots up.

Also as a Jet fan.....don't expect Revis to playto that contract....he shows he can play as a stud again, he will threaten TB to get a chunk of guaranteed cash as he gets into his 30's and tell TB to go ahead and cut him so he can get guaranteed money on the FA market....seen too much of this show to know too well.

TB owes NYJ their 2014 3rd round pick if Revis is on roster by March I believe of next year.....which if you give up a 1st this year, you best keep Revis for more than a year.

Bo Jackson had a Grade 3 dislocation with a socket fracture due to the force of the injury. Watch "You Don't Know Bo" on Netflix or if you can find it. Amazing documentary.

A broken hip is a really tough injury because it never really heals fully, even with surgery and rehab. It is also not very well protected by muscle, so you can't protect it for support as well as most other joints.

And even then, Brett Favre played his entire career with avascular necrosis of the hip. Over the last 5-7 years of his career you can see him visibly limping around on the field, but it obviously wasn't the career-ender that it would be for a RB like Bo.

That could actually be terrible news for the Jaguars. They have a much better chance at Clowney with Gabbert

Speaking in a Monday radio interview, GM John Schneider said the Seahawks are prepared for a "huge spectrum" of possibilities with Percy Harvin's hip injury.
"It could be something where he is out practicing within the next (week), or it could be something like coach (Pete) Carroll was talking about where they do advise surgery," Schneider said. Harvin is receiving a second opinion on Tuesday in New York. SI's Peter King predicted Monday that Harvin will be ready for Week 1. King was at Seahawks camp last week.

SI's Peter King expects Percy Harvin (hip) to be ready for Week 1.
He's just guessing, though King says the "usually conservative Seahawks doctors" don't consider Harvin's injury season-threatening. Harvin is getting a second opinion from a hip specialist on Tuesday. We should get a much better idea of Harvin's status within the next 48 hours.

On Percy Harvin. Harvin flies to New York to be examined by a hip specialist on Tuesday after feeling some restrictions while running last week. He got nervous about it, saw the usually conservative Seahawks doctors (who believe the injury isn’t season-threatening) and decided to exercise his right to have a second opinion. Last year, Seattle safety Kam Chancellor played a full season after getting a cortisone shot and some rest for a similar injury, a torn labrum in his hip. That leads the Seahawks to think they’ll escape a season-ending injury for Harvin. I’ve got a little different opinion on this than most. Harvin had trust issues with authority in Minnesota dating back to a poor relationship with head coach Brad Childress. So now the Seahawks can establish that they’re going to be different—they’re going to give their blessing on getting the second opinion, and they’re going to tell Harvin, We want you to have peace of mind about your hip. Opening day is 41 days away, and aside from the fact that Russell Wilson and Harvin need to be building familiarity, there’s not a major issue with a guy who has a history of missing time (10 games in four seasons) getting as healthy as he can in the preseason and feeling confident in his body when September comes. As one Seattle source said to me, “Percy’s a confidence player—he needs to feel good about his condition and himself. This time should give him the best chance to feel right entering the season.” That is, unless a doctor in New York tells Harvin he needs surgery this week. My money’s on rest and treatment—and Harvin to be ready on opening day.
He's just guessing he'll be fine based on stupid, irrelevant reasons.

You shouldn't rely on any information coming from Peter King. He's pretty much a giant turd.

The Eagles lost wide receiver Jeremy Maclin for the season over the weekend and they kicked off this week’s set of practices by watching another member of the team get carted off the field.

Several writers in attendance at Eagles practice sent out word that linebacker Jason Phillips needed to be helped off the field by trainers after suffering an injury to his right leg before being put on a cart for a trip back to the locker room. Bart Hubbuch of the New York Post snapped a picture of Phillips as he left the field to get medical attention and Jeff McLane of the Philadelphia Inquirer adds that Phillips threw his helmet to the ground while shouting some “choice words” during the evaluation.
