Hmm.

Tom Brady, suffered a tore ACL.
Adrian Peterson, suffered a tore ACL.
Jamaal Charles, suffered a tore ACL.
Randall Cobb, had his leg broken on a cheap low hit.

I don't believe they have much to do with talent/better.... Gale Sayers, Marcus Dupree, Billy Sims, Sterling Sharpe, Nick Collins would agree with that.

Everyone gets hurt out there... but some, like the magical 49ers OLine, just have better training and conditioning programs, I am told.

The funny thing about that gif is that the 49ers are rolling without any of those 3 players.

In 49ers injury related news... They just activated this beast...

Schedule is Cupcake City.
Just beat the great 0-8 Jaguars.
Also, Titans, Cardinals before that.. a helluva trifecta right there.

Good news is that the only tough game left on their whole schedule is @NO in week 11, and then home vs Seattle for all the marbles in week 15.

Games that once looked tough, Atlanta later and Houston earlier, were actually soft.

The schedule talk is a poor argument and can be used most years.

The Chiefs have a pretty easy schedule with only Denver twice and Indy being tough games.

The Broncos play the Chiefs twice, the Colts and the Pats.

The Pats have NO, Cincy and Denver.

Your Packers have SF, Cincy and possibly a tough game at Detroit on Thanksgiving.

Because of injuries, regression etc some teams just aren't good. Yes it's tough for teams like the Chargers who have 4 games against 2 teams with a combined one loss but those are exceptions this year and not the rule

We also had at Baltimore, and go to Dallas in December, the team winning the NFC East.... and go to NYGiants in mid-November and I'm sure they will be playing better by then.

Giants have beaten us the last 2 times. Ended our season in playoffs 2011 and then killed us last year.

First 3 games, 2 roadies, were against playoff teams last year (SF, Cinc, Wash). Of course, Wash sucks now.

But this is my point. That is 2 very average teams and a mediocre team based off this year. The schedule isn't played last year. Each year a really bad team becomes good (KC) and what could have been an easy game turns into a really tough one. Likewise good teams can become bad, thus what should be great, primetime games turn into duds.

I'm not sure I can look at any specific team and think they got a really bad go with the schedule. Maybe Houston who play the Colts twice, the Broncos, the Chiefs, the Pats, the Seahawks and the 49ers.

If it was a broken collarbone it would have been known by now from the x-rays

Packers are usually very tight lipped on injuries but I don't get why they'd hold off on announcing a broken collarbone if he did have one

I'm hoping it's a shoulder sprain. Some docs on twitter speculating its an SC Joint sprain. We'll find out tomorrow

A shoulder sprain is my hope, but I think we're going to get some very bad news in the next couple of days.

I'm hoping the fact he was not wearing a sling is a good sign. You'd think if it was serious they'd want to immobilize that shoulder.

An x ray may not pick up a broken bone due to the swelling and bruising of the area. All reports seem to say either way it's not good and Rodgers could miss the rest of the year.

More on Rodgers' injury: http://www.jsonline.com/blogs/sports/230610771.html

Quote:
If he broke his collarbone, four to six weeks would be a good guess, although CB Charles Woodson missed nine games in 2012 with a broken collarbone. It was the second time he had broken it and the Packers wouldn't clear him until they were convinced the second was totally healed.

If Rodgers suffered a separated shoulder, there are varying degrees of separation and the prognosis can be anywhere from a return whenever the pain subsides to surgery to repair the ligaments around the AC joint.

It didn't seem Rodgers suffered a subluxation or dislocation because there never seemed to be an attempt to pop the shoulder back in place, but if he did suffer that, the possibility of it popping out again would have to be weighed and the possibility of harness being worn would be considered.
Quote:
Green Bay - If QB Aaron Rodgers is not able to play next week against Philaelphia due to the shoulder injury he suffered in the Packers' 27-20 loss to Chicago Monday night, he would be the ninth preferred starter to miss a game this season.

Using a criteria in which only one player can be deemed a starter at each position, here is a list of starters to miss games this season (games missed are in parentheses):
LT Bryan Bulaga (8)
TE Jermichael Finley (2)
WR James Jones (2)
RB Eddie Lacy (1)
FB John Kuhn (1)
ILB Brad Jones (3)
OLB Clay Matthews (4)
S Morgan Burnett (3)

That's eight players who have missed a total of 24 starts.

(Note: OLB Nick Perry does not count because Mike Neal had won the position over Neal before getting hurt. Also, James Jones is a starter over Randall Cobb).

The number of players overall who have missed at least one game due to injury this season is 17.

Not including the ones listed above, they are:
CB Jarrett Bush (3)
WR Randall Cobb (3)
LB Robert Francois (4)
RB DuJuan Harris (8)
CB Casey Hayward (6)
LB Nick Perry (3)
RB James Starks (3)
TE Ryan Taylor (2)
OL Greg Van Roten (5)

The total of missed games for this group is 37.

So all totaled, 17 players have missed a total of 61 games for the Packers this season.

Will more be added to the ranks next week? Probably.

Not only was Rodgers hurt, but "starting OLB" LB Andy Mulumba (because Matthews and Perry were already out) (knee), LB Sam Barrington (hamstring) and OG T.J. Lang (concussion) all were knocked out of the Bears game, leaving their status in doubt next week.

Hearing it may only be 3 weeks he will miss. Confirmed a small fracture of the collarbone. good news for Packers fans, could have been a lot worse

With how horrible Wallace was, and how easily the Bears moved the ball...even if its just 3 games, although their schedule is incredibly easy.

Yeah, if they can go either 1-2 or 2-1 in those 3 games I would still bet on them to take the division. I don't trust the Bears or Lions to win consistently enough to cover if Rodgers is back for the last 5 games

49ers have been blessed with health at certain positions but the separation of opinion from fact is strange to me.

The link above shows the Packers have lost 8 "preferred starters" for a total of 24 starts.

Using that criteria the 49ers have lost 6 "preferred starters" for a total of 30 starts.

The Packers have been hit harder and I won't make light of that. But to assume the 49ers haven't lost alot of time from their starters just isn't true.

49ers had their share of injures. Luckly we are getting healthy just in time for the big stretch and play off run.

sucks for Packer fans . better sign flynn or tebow.

Flynn is a very real option. Tebow couldn't learn McCarthy's offense in time to do anything for them.

Philbin runs a very similar system, so Matt Moore would be an interesting option if the trade deadline hadn't already passed, but right now the only realistic options are Wallace and Flynn. Favre knows the offense, but he's not coming back, so that shouldn't even be brought up by anybody.

If Rodgers is only out three games then I think they can still back into the playoffs. If he misses something closer to the 5-6 game horror that we were hearing last night, then the season might be essentially over for the Packers.
