About to start up yellow or Red/Blue on my emulator. I might go yellow because I hate deciding between Squirtle and Charmander

If I'm playing Red/FireRed, I'm going Bulbasaur. Arcanine is probably my favorite Pokemon ever, and Lapras/Starmie are worth a team slot too. If I'm playing Blue/LeafGreen, I'm going Charizard since you can't catch a Growlithe on that version, and I probably won't even use a grass type.

I hate the Pokemon series because they largely **** on fire types like Arcanine.
He should be so boss but it takes so long to get him, he is ineffective

I really liked ponyta. Cause it's a bad ass fire horse. But yeah, that whole fire pokemon thing.

You get no good ones early and by the time you get the good ones you're so far in the game you have no need for them.

Yeah, most Grass Pokemon suck. My favorite Pokemon may be Breloom though. I've made my cousin so mad with Breloom. Spore + Sub + Seed Bomb + Focus Punch, Toxic Heal + Toxic Orb. A very nasty setup.

I like Charizard but he sucks in competitive play without a rapid spinner.

Route 22 is the route where you can find Nidoran in Gen 1 and I think 2. They switched Nidoran out with Mankey in Route 22 in Fire Red/Leaf Green.

You can catch Nidorino in the Safari zone but that's already a little too in to the game.

Breloom's a beast. Mine runs Spore/Leach Seed/Swords Dance/Seed Bomb with Toxic Heal and Toxic Orb too, but it's noncompetitive. If I did, I'd probably go with your set or switch out Leach Seed for another attacking move, since only Seed Bomb would be troublesome. And Toxic Orb/Absorb will provide a healing move anyway. STAB Mach Punch with Swords Dance boost would be neat, but Rock Slide/Stone Edge covers it's weaknesses better.

He tried to use a revive on it after one of his own pokemon knocked it out but it took cyndaquil 3 days to revive.

What version? The Red/Blue/Yellow generation or the FireRed/LeafGreen gen?

Not that it probably matters. Once he evolves in the FR/LG gen, he only learns one move which is badass Megahorn. If you're playing R/B and you want Horn Drill, then it's Lvl. 41 and Lvl. 46 on Yellow. But beyond that Nidorino/King doesn't learn anything worth a damn, so you might as well evolve him after he learns Horn Attack if you don't want Horn Drill. He'll be a TM/Move Tutor *****. Invest things like Earthquake, Rock Slide, and Shadow Ball into him with Megahorn and you'll probably get everything you want out of him in the FR/LG gen. R/B/Y you'll go with a mix of Earthquake/Rock Slide/Blizzard/Ice Beam/Thunder/T-Bolt/Surf/Body Slam/Horn Drill since he can pull off Special Attacks (/Smogon since I don't remember RBY).

FireRed...i just hit lvl 16 with nidoran and it evolved

you should wait until the level before megahorn because nidorino takes less exp to level than nidoking

Check the edit cause I changed it a few times, lol.

If it were me, I'd evolve him after he learns Horn Attack which is Lvl. 22. Cause besides Megahorn, which Nidoking learns at Lvl. 43, you won't be keeping any of his natural moves so it's not worth keeping Nidorino for too long. Double Kick and Horn Attack should get you by until you start coming across more TM's/Move Tutors.

Sbh15 makes a point, but Nidorino has meh attack with crappy moves, so defeating opponents to get XP will be tougher. Depends if you're wanting to exchange having a fully evolved Pokemon to help plow through guys or if you'll take having a weaker Pokemon in exchange for it leveling up quicker.

I've always kind of wanted one huge game. Like all of the different lands all merged together. Would be epic...

Or like a more mature version, where Pokemon are more realistic and battles are like summoning in Final Fantasy or something. Would also be epic.

Or both at once, because why not.

I think its because Pokemon is owned by nintendo isn't it?
