Offense looks great so far. The recievers (TO, CJ, Shipley and Gresham) look really good.
The defense just sucks to watch because it's so plain at this point. Hard to take much from it at this point. Gresham and Shipley are REALLY encouraging thus far (8 minutes to go in the 1st).

Yeah, I like how Shipley has looked so far. I think that he will be a positive factor in the SLOT.
TO still has game.
I think the Defense looks saltier.

let me say this- t.o. shouldnt get much credit. most of those passes he caught were gimmes. the offensive coordinator should get credit, he impressed me with his play selection and the routes he drew up for t.o.
you should be terrified about dave rayner. he is going to be a nightmare from 40+ this season. he badly missed that field goal and denver managed to ice him with that 55 yard attempt. in any event, you guys looked good, especially your second and third teams and bernard scott.

You could easily replace the words 'dave rayner' with 'Shayne Graham'. I agree though, as I was watching I was thinking the kicking game could be a rough one this year.
TO was getting open, more than we could say for our WR's last year. I don't think any of us on here have much reason to go out of our way to complement the generally awful playcalling of Bratkowski.
Again, VERY nice to see Gresham and Shipley playing as well as they did. Those are two HUGE pieces that the team was missing last year. Bernard Scott is looking good, I'm starting to get more and more comfortable with him in the event Benson got hurt.

Good to hear Maualuga didn't get a suspension, he did lose 2 game checks though.
Also, I too am excited about our receivers. I can't wait till the season starts and we get to watch 60 minutes of Palmer throwing to them.

Luigs was just to small for our division imo

That is really surprising but I will say I thought Stephens looked pretty darn good when he got to come in with the ones this past game.
Andre Smith is back as well. Chip Morton really confirmed my position on him as far as his conditioning issue. We're really gonna be needing this guy from game 1.

Tebow not practicing due to rib injury associated with his TD run where he got met at the goal line by Hodge/Hebert. Welcome to the NFL, he will need to learn to start sliding. He definitely is better than Quinn in my book.
Looking to Friday, expect to see improvement in our defense. Philly starters should be in for most of the 1st half so that should be a good tune up for us.
Offense will continue to build on things with our WR/TE activity being the most interesting to follow. It would be nice to see Andre out there to get some reps.

He has been injured. Shown no versatility. And Reggie Stephens played amazingly well at C during the last game. Made him an easy cut

So I was only able to watch a little over a quarter in the game, due to the blackout and being at work... But it's encouraging again to see Gresham and TO producing, sucks to have Carson throw those INT's (mostly the first one).
The CB's are really making things tough. Jones takes one to the house last week, then this week Trent gets 3 INT's... Pacman seems to be a lock for his special teams play if anything else, Trent/Jones/Ghee are in a real battle... Given his draft position Ghee should be plenty safe.
Coffman and Simpson don't seem to be doing a ton to help their cause at this point...
The kickers miss their only two attempts, 1 a piece.... Ugh...... Maybe we want the ginger back?

From what I've seen so far I'd have to say I'm really happy with the depth at most every spot on the defensive side of the ball. The offense has been doing a decent job but haven't done anything to awe me as of yet. Shipley and Gresham have been really surprising as rookies. I expected them to help but not at the level they have so far. B Scott has been showing his great running ability so far as well. I don't have any doubt he can be a number one back in the league if he can keep up with conditioning himself for the grind of a NFL season.
Now the thing that scares me a ton is the QB position. Palmer has been solid but not the QB of old. And god forbid if he goes down. the backups are just outright horrid. One rumor i hope comes true is Carolina releases Tony Pike and Cinci picks him up. he cant be any worse then whats there right now.

QB backups are pretty awful that's for certain.
The draft picks look REALLLLLLYYYYYY good. Very impressed with them. It's amazing to have a playoff team without a ton of noticeable needs and draft all these guys that will make an impact immediately. Atkins looks like a DE out there at times with his speed.
The passing game was just awesome last night, it was like it's back where it should be. Maybe not the vertical game of 2005 but they are very effective. TO and Gresham have been HUGE additions. Gresham really looks great out there and I don't think TO has lost a ton, he was a bargain.
The defense looked as solid as we expected through most of the game (with the 1st team) with the exception of that one sloppy drive.
Getting excited, the offense looks great.

I think the big thing is: We are sustaining long drives. We aren't going out there hoping for big plays to score and just giving the ball right back.

Bryant cut. Personally, I like the move because it allows us to keep more healthy, young WRs and I wasn't too wild about the Bryant signing when it first happened.

It looks like Crosby & Simpson make it in with Briscoe going on practice team.

That's what I was thinking. I don't think Matt Jones has shown enough thus far to warrant us keeping him, but he does have the size that Carson loves. Going to be an interesting couple of weeks of cuts.

Since his health was so questionable I definitely support it. Glad Cosby has a chance of sticking on even with Shipley/Pacman doing so well on PR/KR.
I was also pretty iffy on the Bryant signing. I mostly preferred TO because he was cheaper and the better player (although with less time left and upside).
Still really pumped with how the offense played.
