Greatest NFL Player by Jersey Number
SI has ranked the greatest players by their jersey number... How Randy Moss is not on that list is beyond me. Otherwise a fun read.

Of course a very good DE is better than one of the last decades' best DTs.

Damn 98 is weak. All these great players for other numbers, and then the best 98 has is Julian Peterson.

Julian Peterson was pretty beastly for a few seasons. Also what Ness and Brent said.

If you want something funny : At 29 you can see Joseph Addai's name in the worthy of consideration part.

Albert Haynesworth was a consideration name, too.
Though, none of this should shocked me when it's the ******* company which employs Peter King.

If you think that's bad, Jeff Garcia is on the honorable mentions for the #5. The winner... Donovan McNabb...

like Vick for number 7? The phrase worthy of consideration means that before anointing the winner, you should stop and think about whether to give it to these other people. Would you seriously pause to consider whether Vick was worthy of being put ahead of Elway, even for a fraction of a second.
Maybe they should change it to "other guys that wore the number that werent complete bums".

I know for some on this board it is really hard to believe, but Troy Aikman was a great quarterback who was the leader of a team that won 3 Superbowls.

He was a great quarterback don't get me wrong. I just think Steve Young was the better player.

Jessie Armstead > Julian Peterson
I like how 56 is LT, then all the people who wished they would become LT
Kurt Warner > Dan Marino :)

Obviously Vick isn't better than Elway but there was at least a point in his career when Vick was good. Addai has never been any better than mediocre.
And making an argument for Aikman over Young? Really?
