Alex Smith is a good QB. He was last year and he was great tonight. He is no worse than average at the least. I still think they need to use Michael Crabtree more. He was used more as a rookie, which doesn't make any sense.

If at first you don't succeed, then maybe you just suck.

I dunno why, we played like crap to be honest, and they let us take the game from them with their sheer dumbassery.

I know. It's like we were the Saints of the 90's and 80's.

Crabtree just makes to many mistakes. Last week he ran sloppy routes and let a pass bounce off of his chest for a pick and this week he falls down on a play that would have went for 20 yards. Morgan is the 49ers most reliable and consistent receiver outside of Davis and, usually, Walker.

The 9ers coaching staff managed to rally their team from a horrible start to gain a lead over the champions by corrective action, like Smith having the numbered plays on his wristband. And their 2 rookie o-linemen helped to give Smith time to complete 40-yarders to Davis & Morgan, & he was accurate too. His improved his accuracy by several degrees of magnitude over the disaster in Seattle where they couldn't get the plays in for him, all his passes in the opener were way too high or behind the receivers. So that's an improvement, hopefully they can build on this on the road in a wk. in KC.
Just checking ESPN, Shefter thinks Reggie Bush may have a broken leg. That's a really bad wk. for Bush, giving back the Heisman & a bone fracture.

There's always hope in that division for the Niners where i can see someone at 7-9 winning the division.

Look at the 49ers schedule the rest of the way, though,
@Kansas City
@Atlanta
Philadelphia
Oakland
@Carolina
Denver
St. Louis
Tampa Bay
@Arizona
@Green Bay
Seattle
@San Diego
@St. Louis
Arizona
9 wins should be easily attainable

Agree. First team to 8 is probably going to win that division and clearly to me it is between San Fran and Arizona. I thought the Niners actually looked pretty good last night.

I don't really want to defend Haley on this, but Jones actually played better than Charles against Cleveland. Charles was ineffective outside of a garbage time 20 yard run at the end of the first half, while Jones was getting pretty consistent yardage. Now if only Cassel could complete third down passes...

To add to that, 12/21 of Charles runs have been for <3 yards

Jones is a great workhorse, but Charles is our best offensive weapon. He needs touches. He has a few meh to solid carries and then breaks one for 50. It's not new for him.
And I wouldn't count that game at Arrowhead as a W for the 49ers. The Chiefs are going 3-0. :)

I am worried about playing @ Arrowhead but if the 49ers play like they did last night and the Chiefs play like they have in the first two games, even if the 49ers decide they should hurt themselves every other drive, then the 49ers should not have much of a problem.
