Hey guys. The 49ers just signed Colby Bockwoldt, a former titan. He didnt do much playing, he supposedly was a STer in tennesee mainly. From what you guys know about him, which i imagine is little (but better than nothing) what can you tell me about him? Is he a good tackler? Did he play ST exclusively? Link to the signing.

He did most of his playing in New Orleans prior to the year in TEnn. He is a speed / smarts guy. High character, good depth. played out of position at mlb due to injury and overacheived. He is a good signing as a backup or for nickel packages. not a run stuffer.

Can't say much about his play on D, he hardly got any. Only thing sticking out in my mind is him not covering a TE that caught a 1st down pass in short yardage. Maybe he wasn't supposed to cover the guy though.

He was all over the place on special teams. Looks pretty athletic. I thought he was a good backup for us, kinda suprised he walked when I think we could have tendered him.
