Who would have thought a couple years ago that Randy Moss and Shawne Merriman would be on the waiver wires in the middle of a season.

I seriously doubt anyone waste their time with him. He either lost something when he was hurt or was a steroids product. Either way, he isn't worth the time of filing the waiver claim unless you have no one at OLB.
Of the two free agents, Moss is way more attractive than Meriman right now.

If it weren't passed the trade deadline, I would guess Al Davis would be trading us Nnamdi Asomugha for a second round pick.

Knowing the Pats they could probably get Asomugha for a 3rd or 4th

Dont mention something like that. Thinking of the Pats getting a 3rd round pick for four games of Randy Moss then getting him back, getting Logan Mankins back, the possibility of getting Shawne Merriman, having the best record in the NFL and now you through up Nnamdi. Im trying my best not to orgasm in work as it is!!! I'm pretty sure that's gross misconduct. I cant get fired this close to Christmas

http://espn.go.com/blog/afcwest/post...ne-merriman-go
Below is a list of teams that could be interested in Merriman, either through the waiver wire or through free agency if he is not claimed. Merriman hasn’t been effective since 2007 because of injuries. But there should be interest in a 26-year-old player who has 43.5 career sacks.
Baltimore: The Ravens always have room for good pass rushers.
Dallas: It’s been reported that the Cowboys aren’t interested, but it’s a fit.
Denver: The Broncos are battered at linebacker and really need a pass rusher.
Green Bay: There’s a need, but the Packers don’t go after vets.
Houston: Not a great fit, but there are injury issues here.
Kansas City: The Chiefs could always use another pass rusher, but it’s a long shot.
Miami: This could be a legitimate fit.
New England: I could see this fit if he clears waivers.
New Orleans: The Saints almost traded for him in April.
New York Jets: See Baltimore.
Oakland: Merriman would look good in Silver and Black.
San Francisco: I wouldn’t be shocked if Merriman is a 49er.
Washington: I could see Merriman heading home.

I wouldnt mind us atleast trying him out in Oakland if he comes cheap. We could use another pass rusher and keep him out of KC

I think someone will take a shot on him, a team that he would never outright sign for. 9ers or Browns is what I'm musing.

Yeah, but when he does the market should be fun. Everyone's going to want to try to "save" that kind of talent...

I can see him on Oakland. I think that's a pretty good fit there, and what a rivalry!
I say he ends up in the Bay Area one way or the other.

Yeah, I agree. The demand will be very high after the waiver process.

Pass rush DE unless they feel like having him play SLB or something.

I still think 4-3 DE would have been his best and most natural position for the pros.

He had 17 sacks in 12 games as a 3-4 OLB, how in the heck could he have been a better 4-3 DE?
