Randy Moss told Ziggy to fire Brad Childress

Randy Moss reportedly told Vikings owner Zygi Wilf and several other team executives "in no uncertain terms" that Brad Childress was not a good coach and needed to be fired.

The incident took place in the visitor's locker room after last week's loss at New England, and just before Moss' rambling post-game love fest with the Patriots. Since Moss was placed on waivers, Wilf has met with several key veterans to discuss Childress among other topics. Moss' attitude was a major problem in his month with the Vikings, but he was right about Childress' coaching ability. Childress also made a mistake in not checking with the owner before he made up his mind to dump Moss. It's hard to picture Childress staying on in 2011 unless he directs a miraculous second-half turnaround.

Hope it's true. I like the Vikings as a team and it is a shame to see them suck like this. Not completely Childress' fault, but he has screwed up enough that it looks like time to give Frazier a shot.

So now Wilf might hang on to Childress another year so he doesn't have to admit he made a mistake keeping Childress over Moss.

Hmmm...I wonder if the Vikings would be able to use the Moss release as a "fired with cause" incident in order to get out of paying Chilly the $15 million or so that they still owe him.

Depends on the language of his contract. If it says he has absolute final authority on the 53 man roster, they'll likely still have to pay him.

I am just baffled they gave him an extension. I does not take a genius to see he is a **** coach and the team won despite of him never because of him. By far Wilf's biggest mistake as owner so far and I really hope he looks out for the best interest of the team and not his pocket.

I honestly don't believe they are going to give Frazier a shot after the season either. I know he's been a head coaching candidate for other teams in offseasons past, but if they honestly felt he was head coaching material they would have made the move already as Childress really is a moron. I think its alot more likely they clean house and bring someone new in to take over. I'm just curious to see who that is.
