I really wish Flacco didn't decide to suck tonight on national tv, he could go on to have a very good rest of the season but people will remember him for this game.

3 of the 6 games he has played this year have been just awful. This wasn't an isolated instance where he had a bad game on national television. He has been consistently bad this season.

They better have someone better in line to replace him. A lot of teams would take Flacco over their current starter right now. The Ravens could always go back to making the playoffs two times in four years though while having a worse passing game.

Sanchez is better from what I have seen than Flacco. Flacco doesn't have Sanchez mobility which is what hurt the Ravens yesterday IMO. Once 1-2 defenders get near Joe, he has to stand there and take the shot. He doesn't get the ball out quick enough to evade the sacks. Sanchez at least improvises and tries to run out and either throw it away or run for whatever gain he can get.

Flacco is like a statue there.....one rivaling Drew Bledsoe.

Yeah but both Flacco and Bledsoe are/were better QBs because they have better arms.

I don't even think it is all that close. They were talking so much about Flacco's completion percentage last night. except Sanchez's is significantly worse. They are easy comparisons too because they are in similar situations. Great talent around them but idiot OCs.

One luxury Joe has is a running game(Outside of last night) and one of the elite backs in the game that make defenses target the running game.

Up until this past game vs SD, the Jets did nothing on the ground and it made Mark become the go to guy in games. If Greene(Or whoever) can give a respectable performance on a weekly basis, then we might see what we saw from Sanchez this past Sunday....a pretty controlled game and Sanchez making the big throws when needed on 3rd down and in the red zone.

No real surprise that Sanchez has his best game of the year when the running game finally wakes up and smells the coffee.

I mean how much help does Sanchez need? Wasn't the Jets running game one of the best in the league his first two years? Sanchez is coddled. Either the coaches don't trust him or he isn't good enough. And even being coddled, his passing isn't all that impressive.

He was coddled his 1st year with the "Red, Green decoder" for playcalling. 2nd year showed improvement but he had his good and bad days. 3rd year is looking more like his 2nd year in a sense of good game, bad game.

Every QB needs a running game though, outside of very few(Brady, Rodgers, Manning). Jets were in the bottom 5 in rushing heading into Sunday's game. The Jets had a great running game in 2009 that carried Sanchez and his mistakes far. 2010 it tailed off a bit late in the season but Sanchez came on strong right after that Miami game where he was nearly benched so it worked out well for NYJ that by the time Tomlinson's legs got tired that Sanchez took command. This year the running game was horrific prior to the explosion vs SD and the Jets relied on Sanchez to now make 35+ throws a game.

I don't think Sanchez is ready to take that next step as to being a guy who can carry a team but I do think he has the goods and is better than Matt Ryan and Joe Flacco and Josh Freeman(But I know I am in the minority).

Well I say this as someone who is not impressed with Ryan or Flacco and they each have a year on Sanchez in the NFL and after being 4 year starters in college. There is no separation between Ryan, Flacco and Sanchez and for both Joe and Matt to not have separation over a guy when they have an extra year in their system makes no sense imo.

Freeman and Sanchez is a bit of a toss up though admittedly.

Honestly, not having a full NFL Offseason could be a factor with most of these young QBs. Guys Like Ryan, Freeman, Stafford (Besides Megatron, he' had 2 new WRs to buld chem. with), Bradford had no time to work with coaches and young WRs to build chemistry.

I remember reading articles from analysts and former players and saying the lockout will have a huge impact with younger guys. I wasn't sure what to think because they were organizing there own workouts, most of these young guns.

I'm not going to say it was 100% the lockout, but I think it's played a role. We'll see how they perform in the 2nd half of the season. I've been extremely dissapointed with Freeman. I know he's got all the talent to succeed, but 4 INTs games like that in his 3rd year (2nd year as a starter) is unacceptable.

Even though that was probably the worst offensive gameplan I have ever seen last night and the WRs couldnt get open. Flacco looked bad, his accuracy is terrible!

Look at the stats in Joe's second year compared to Mark's second year. There is plenty of separation. completion %, yards per attempt, TD-INT, it's not close at all.

And was Joe a 4 year starter? He transferred from Pitt so he lost a least a year there riding the bench. He also transitioned from a 1-AA school instead of playing with the "student" athletes Sanchez did at USC.

Honestly, I think fans are just not used to these defensive battles anymore. That was a good game last night in my opinion. Theres been too many offensive shootouts this year. Nice to see a defensive grudge match once in a while.

But that wasn';t entirely Flacco. Jaguars DBs were stuck to Ravens WRs like glue last ngiht.

I am meaning more so this year.

and Sanchez got 1 year as a starter.....and his targets were the amazing Damian Williams and Patrick Turner. Better than what Delaware gave Flacco sure(Ben Patrick might be the lone standout) but far from greatness.

Well this year Flacco has been terrible. If you're saying Sanchez is on par with Flacco this year, than congrats Sanchez is also terrible. But Flacco's past two seasons Sanchez hasn't even come close to touching at any point in his career so far.

I think what we're seeing is young qbs coming into the league, doing better than we initially expected, but also plateuing earlier than expected as well.

It seems like qbs like Flacco, Sanchez, Ryan have already peaked. I wonder if throwing them in the fire early has led to this. Perhaps they develop tendencies early that are hard to break once you get into the daily grind of being an NFL qb?

So you're saying Matt Ryan would be Aaron Rodgers if the Falcons started Chris Redman in 2008? Punch yourself.
