Default Week 9: Steelers MNF

Might as well get an official one going as we drown our sorrows.

Would like to see the offense not suck.

Would like to see the defense not suck.

Those are my key points for the game. Seriously, defense needs to go get them and stop playing so 2007ish.

Absolutely horrible play calling and game management, but that's nothing new.

This is the 6th time we've failed to start a game this season. I hope our new coach can fix that for us next year.

Promote Zimmer to HC and get wade phillips in to run a 34 defense??? also need a new oc bad

also on a side note this could really be a team Jon Gruden is interested in taking over...
so much potential on offense and zimmer as the d coor and asst hc

Gruden sounded like he knew he could do something with this team. His comparison to potential and production really highlighted that as well as the way he pointed out our young talent on offense (Smith, Shipley, Gresham).

He did mention our young offensive guys quite a few times. Insofar as the the potential vs. production comment goes, he was comparing us to the the Steelers and saying how we are loaded with potential, but it doesn't mean anything until it comes through as production, which is exactly what the Steelers are known for.

The mistakes are just stupid at this point. Honestly, I didn't think Brats play calling was even that bad (he should still be fired, obviously). Even on the last drive the holding penalty killed it. Not to mention who knows what happens if Scott doesn't fumble the opening kickoff, what a kick in the gut.

On the plus side, I think we're officially at the point where you just want to be competitive and that's a plus. It's sad really but a whole lot less stressful lol.

Let me also say Palmer is fine, I like when he runs the no huddle and that Pass to TO was a thing of beauty.

He's not in '05 form but very manageable, I just want to remind everyone of the string of QB's we had before him.....

I do think a QB should be taken in the 2nd or 3rd to develop.
