Let me do the honors...

The Packers have injuries.

The Chiefs got better throughout the year. If they have close to the 3rd down offense early in the season (their biggest weakness) that they have now, they're a 2-loss team right now...easily handling the Texans, Colts, and Raiders. You take the Bucs now and go back and have them play the teams they lost to, and they still lose.

Naturally, everyone else just followed their example.

The opinion in GB nation was "well there goes the playoffs" to "holy crap we are actually making this work" to "I can't believe our top 6 ROLBs are hurt and we are onto #7 and still beating the Giants". Most of us thought we would fall apart completely and were shocked when we shut out the Jets, which brought about some optimism.

The Packers didn't even lose any fantastic players. Nick Barnett, Finley and Grant are the only quality players they have on IR. If the Packers weren't ******* ******** and signed a running back or traded for one in the 5 weeks they had the opportunity to they'd probably be ahead of the Bears right now. Its cool though, who needs to have running backs when your QB can scramble for 40 yards a game and get himself KO'd.

The Packers injuries are so overblown and thats why its annoying. Every team has injuries. My team the Bills in Jauron's first/second year had like 18 people on IR and they still went 7-9 with a way shittier team, Bills fans didn't cry about it in every thread.

Oh no, we have a mountain of backup linebackers injured, how will we ever compete with our ****** linebackers injured... Chillar is only good at blitzing if he gets a wide open lane to the QB, and is decent in coverage, and Barnett is just a solid leader. Any further down the depth chart the caliber of player doesn't really change, just the personality and familiarity.

****, our tight ends are crap because we don't have a pro bowler now! Oh shucks, how will the Packers survive without a tight end, their offense has been based around the position since McCarthy got there...... Oh, he spread everyone out with 4 receivers and had Donald Lee as his number one tight end the whole time? Sorry, never mind. Losing Finley sucked, not like the offense would be any worse than every other year without him contributing...

The Packers offense was basically the same as it has been since McCarthy got there but with even more depth at receiver, a better QB, but this time didn't luck out with a RB stepping up like Grant did 3 years ago, sorry not every scrub RB from the 7th round is Ryan Grant, Mike.

The defense has had ****** safeties forever. Nick Collins has been fine, and Bigby only gets recognized because he has a bad ass name, dreads and made a couple big plays two years ago.

Yeah, your team had injuries, most of them were all at the same positions, they still had a solid offensive line, a pro bowl QB and as deep of a receiver core as they've ever had.

The defense still had it's two best linebackers, Woodson and apparently Tramon is awesome and Shields can play nickel, sounds better than most of the past decade at corner for the Packers tbqh. They also have more than journeymen and guys playing out of position playing on the DLine now that Raji knows wtf hes doing in his second year, Pickett is solid, Jenkins missed time but is a quality player, they lack depth but thats a result of ****** talent beyond the starters rather than injuries.

The Packers aren't that banged up, they just have a lot of ****** backups in their front seven and have never had good safeties since Butler and Sharper. The only injury that really ****** them over was Ryan Grant.

p.s. Bill Belicheck should be coach of the year kthxbai.

This. The defense was expected to be awful, especially against the pass thanks to a young secondary and no pass rushers.

Show me one credible person that picked them ahead of the Jets at the beginning of the year.

And I also think just from a standpoint that everyone knows BB is the best coach in the league, one of these guys that have made a huge turnaround this year should get the award.

BB was more personally involved with coaching the defense this year and the results didn't show on the stat sheet, but showed for sure on the field. I would take this defense over the Dean Pees one ten times out of ten despite what statistics dictate. So much more deception and complexities scheme wise. Got a ton better late in the year too.

Brad Childress for coach of the year!

Just kidding, but I think BB is by far the best coach in the league and I would be fine with him winning it.

I did, but that was more out of my hatred for the Jets. My preseason SB prediction was Pats vs Vikes.

you do realize it's not just season ending injuries, but players are missing games because of injuries...

On Finely, when he came out, everyone here knew he was raw and would take time to develop. Our 5th WR is on the roster just for ST because of what we do with Finely....Finely was becoming a BIG factor to this offense. Oh and i never knew having your best players, no matter what the position hurt, wasn't a bad thing.

You claim we have crap at Safety and most of our LBers are a joke? yet we have a solid o-line? please watch a Packers game before you ever judge our talent, or never make a rant about the us.

oh and btw, that injury bug has affected our wr core as well...just saying.

Since when did Hawk become one of our 2 best LBers? again, watch some Packers games.

On the d-line we don't have "******" deep, Jolly is suspended and our depth has also been hit with injuries...

oh and once again, before you make a rent about another team. Do some research.kthxbye.

actually no you're wrong. Not every team loses this amount of players for the season or amount of games. A lot of teams get lucky(Falcons this year), or suffer a injury here or there, but not the amount we have had.

All Starters....All put on IR:
Brian Price
Gerald McCoy
Cody Grimm
Tanard Jackson(suspension)
Arrelious Benn
Jeff Faine
Davin Joseph
Quincy Black
Aqib Talib
Kyle Moore

You wonder why Bucs injuries aren't the running joke of the forum? It is because Bucs fans don't bring it up at every possible opportunity as an excuse. I'm sure other teams have had other very significant injuries their teams fans just don't feel the need to remind everyone at every waking moment.

If you honestly read this far into the thread and still don't get why people still are making the joke about Packer injuries then your either a packer fan or don't have a sense of humor. We have a page and half arguing packer injuries in the Coach of the year thread that started on page ******* two. My ******* God.

To stay on topic.....

Haley had a great year, but had some help with that schedule, still who would thought the chiefs would win the division and the number three seed?

BB had a great year with a great draft and good results but he wont be getting it. Haley is the guy I would vote for. I also gotta give props to Tomlin for how well the steelers played without Big ben and all the controversy surronding the team at the start of the season.

The Packers offense has managed completely fine without Finley for the past three years. The guy who started ahead of Finley is still on the roster. The top 4 receivers on the team have all been there for at least two years. Yeah, it sucks that a playmaker got hurt but the offense and the entire game didn't revolve around Finley and it would be completely fine without him just like it had been for the better part of three seasons.

You claim we have crap at Safety and most of our LBers are a joke? yet we have a solid o-line? please watch a Packers game before you ever judge our talent, or never make a rant about the us.
Your line isn't nearly as bad as it was last year or years prior. Your line has more depth than any part of your team's roster. Your line is easily better than your safeties, and your line is better than most of the league's. Just because your line isn't the best in the league doesn't make it the worst. Look at other lines across the league and you'll find a lot worse.

I didn't say your linebackers were ****, I said your injured backups are **** but okay. 3 good guys (Barnett, Hawk, Matthews), 2 rotational guys (Chillar & Bishop), and then garbage. Still have 2 of your top linebackers and your top backup.

Quote:
oh and btw, that injury bug has affected our wr core as well...just saying.
Really? You mean like how the only receiver that has missed practice time this year has been Driver, who is like 43 years old. Greg Jennings missed one practice. Jordy Nelson was listed as "Not Listed = No practice status available" twice. Holy **** how are they even managing a passing game with all those injuries to their receivers? This one I just found to be absolutely hilarious.

Quote:
Since when did Hawk become one of our 2 best LBers? again, watch some Packers games.
Thats your opinion. Nick Barnett is hardly better in my opinion. Chillar is a situational player. Bishop wouldn't see the field nearly as often with Barnett healthy (although he'll probably be replacing him soon). At the worst he's your third best and still one of the better players at his position in the conference and is probably having his best season as a pro player right now.

Quote:
On the d-line we don't have "******" deep, Jolly is suspended and our depth has also been hit with injuries...
Your depth as in Justin Harrell, who I'm not even going to bother with, and the guy on your roster that was facing 2-20 years in prison? The only player you can really say and not get laughed at is Mike Neal, a second round rookie. I can think of much worse situations than having Raji, Pickett and Jenkins as my starters on the DL. If you want depth don't rely on the guy facing prison charges and the guy who has never been healthy in the past 4 years.

Quote:
oh and once again, before you make a rent about another team. Do some research.kthxbye.
Oh, and once again, the Packers injuries aren't nearly as ******* insurmountable, interesting or relevant as your collective fan-base seem to think. The Packers are 9-6 and aren't even guaranteed a spot in the playoffs right now.

The Packers issues, as far as I'm concerned, are more an issue of a lack of depth on defense and blatant ignorance of the running game. Go praise your coach some more for his paper thin defensive depth. Go give Dom Capers some acknowledgment for the Packers success, not McCarthy.

I made one post about how McCarthy has done a good job with a heavily injured team and it spawned 20 posts about how much Packers fans whine about it. You guys make such a bigger deal about it than we do- the very thing you are trying to make fun of. That's irony.

Raheem Morris would be a lock if the Bucs didn't have all those injuries.

A coach who turned over half his roster this year (due to injuries, contract situations, free agency, rookies, etc), had a winning record, and beat division leaders in the crunch time (and by "beat down" margins) would be a lock most years, but when he's Bill Belichick then it's just expected.

Right, the Bears had one big injury last year, Urlacher, and they fell apart like a cheap suit, going like 5-11 or some crap like that. They whined about it too, but because they fell out of contention within 4 weeks without Urlacher, they didn't whine long because their team and their fans basically gave up by October something and ignored the rest of the season.

Nick Barnett is the Packers Urlacher at MLB, and Barnett is about the 4th or 5th best player we've put on IR.

But I think I had McCarthy 4th or 5th in my ballot. He did a better job this year than he did in 2007 when the team went 13-3, but still Haley and then Morris are the clear 1-2 guys in my opinion. I don't see how anyone can argue that anyone deserves it other than Haley or Raheem.

Is it true that the Packers had injuries?

I nominate Michael Vick for Coach of the Year.
