Detroit is not going to pick up a QB whose career is the mirror image of Joey Harrington.
But then again with Matt Millen, you never know.

Because he was valued as the #15 pick pretty much.
How many people actually like this trade? For all the people saying our Schaub hasn't done much in the NFL, what as Quinn or Russell done in the NFL? It's Schaub's potential to be a starter. Yes he might not work out and while 2 2nd rounders is a bit steap, it isn't bad at all. I'm wondering how many of you are going to be saying you love the trade in a year or two.

I'll say it now. I think this trade as far as value worked out for both teams. Now they have to produce. But both sides made the correct move.

this tradetells vick to put up or shut up. next year petrino can bring in brohm if vick craps the bed. as far as schaub i think the wr's houston have are better than ATL. AJ is a top wr and ahmen green has another year or 2 left. hes in the WC which schaub does well in and played in college. If they texans can get a TE and some o-line help, i think they can be just as good as the falcons.
on a side note, why didnt the falcons take on carr as a back up? maybe instead of 2 2's a 2 and a 4 and carr..

They have a TE in Owen Daniels. A great pick and he put up good numbers with no one at QB. 2 TD's in 1 game when Sage R. was in there. O-line is fine. They made Ron Dayne look all pro.
On the side note, becasue of what you said in the 1st paragraph. It's put up or shut up for vick and if he is shut up, then hello brohm.....if they can get him.

The Texans really paid Schaub a lot of money though. 6 years 48 Million dollars with a 7 Million dollar signing bonus. 20 Million over the first three years.

What? How the hell does eliminating one's competition say that he "has" to put up? If anything, it says he's home free.

You should know by now that everything the organization does it a direct indication that Vick is either getting benched, traded, ect. People cannot live with the fact that it isn't happening.

Well, that after 5 years of losing with David Carr, it's time to try and become a winner.

According to what I've read. The Raiders were in the ball-park, but all they would give up is #33. So the Texans had to one up the Raiders' offer, to secure Schaub.

The only way Atlanta will have a shot at Brohm is either Brohm falls or Vick reeks of suckage at an all time high and the team collapses.
What make you think Atlanta is going to have a shot at Brohm?

They have two #2 round picks, which could be put together to trade up for Petrino's guy. That said; the only way that is going to happen is if Vick struggles mightily in '07.

this is really mind boggling, Carr's talent is really not questioned at. However I think they made a mistake starting him as a rookie. He can still be a great NFL QB. I think Houston should have gave him atleast another year. And if they still wanted Schuab they would have been able to sign him as a UFA. Instead they shoot themselves giving away 2 picks taht could be used to help add the the teams talent.
The reason why I believe Carr deserved atleast one more season to prove himself.
Carr's first 5 seasons:
2592 yds 9 tds 15 ints 52.5% ----- 5.8 p/a
2013yds 9 tds 13 ints 56.6% ---- 6.8 p/a
3531yds 16tds 14 ints 61.2% --- 7.6 p/a
2488yds 14tds 11ints 60.5% --- 5.9 p/a
2767yds 11tds 12 ints 68.3% --- 6.3 p/a
John Elway --- http://www.pro-football-reference.co...s/ElwaJo00.htm
Texans ruined Carr, no doubt he is gun shy right now, but
If he can sit on the bench for a year or 2 and learn a system that actaully fits his talents instead of being in a system that hampers him he will eventually be a great QB.

For everybody sticking up for Carr saying the Texans ruined him, I ask: what exactly is the difference between Carr and Joey Harrington? Did the Lions ruin Joey Harrington, too?
If you really think about it, it's amazing how strikingly similar these two Tedford products are. So I want to know what Carr gets a free pass, while Harrington doesn't.

The Texans reportedly added a second second-round pick to their package for Matt Schaub because Oakland was after him.

A-freaking-men.
All that is left to cling to by the Carr hyper's is that he was drafted by an expansion team....6 years ago.
