Case in point to my aforementioned moronic Iowa fans:

Reading on it being very possible that Iowa could face Baylor in a bowl game, Iowa fans say it would be no problem because they would just contain RGIII like they did Denard. Prevent him from running, and then let him pass and we should be able to stop their offense no problem. Because you know RGIII = Denard exactly.

not a Browns fan, cus **** that team their not the original Browns. To be honest I had already moved once the Browns left so I didn't really care, just followed them to Baltimore, hell they moved closer to me so I was all for it

No, I'm the exception. Everyone in the state identifies with the team whether they went there or not. That usually only exists in the South, where there are few pro teams.

Pretty much everyone in the 70+ generation in Pennsylvania loves Penn State regardless of if they went there or not and as a result, many other people in Pennsylvania, particularly on the eastern side of the state, loves Penn State too. That being said, Penn State has 19 campuses across the state and pretty much anyone can get in to a branch campus so its pretty much impossible to live in Pennsylvania and not have someone close to you that has some affiliation with the school...

also, even though the game didn't mean a whole lot, it felt really good to get a win yesterday. Here's hoping our ugly season produces three more wins...

I think all fans that take themselves this seriously that didn't actually go to school there are mouth breathers, whether it be Michigan (where I'm a grad student currently) or OSU. I just find it to be much more prevalent at OSU than anywhere else. I get the impression that OSU fan base is a lot like your typical NFL fan base with a bunch of middle-aged men that dress up in stupid costumes, shave and paint their heads and then go home to their own pathetic lives.

Actually not a Wolverine fan at all, but nice try bucko. Also, learn to spell 'weird' or you're just perpetuating the stereotype of OSU fans. And what is an 'insulting demographic'?

I will say this, I've never been to Ohio State but everyone I know says they got treated well when they've been to an Ohio State game. I can't say the same thing about Michigan where a lot of people I know that have been to Michigan games said their fans are horrible. In terms of visiting fanbases, Iowa fans have been the WORST of all teams in my experience.

First of all the Insulting demographic I was referring to was "middle aged men" (a demographic) A demographic is a select group or population of people as can be defined by common characteristics. I chose not to define this as I was trying to feed the troll.

Third your a damn troll because your not bringing any valid quantifying evidence to your lack of an argument. Your on a football forum discussing how one teams fans are seemingly more annoying to you. This is right up there with discussions of how one teams uniforms are heinously unattractive.

The guy was not harmed by anything I did, it was a little team fun. He was yelling "go blue" and blaring his horn, equally annoying. There was no one behind him affected and at the end of the day we were both just having a little fun in which no one was hurt.

Sounds about right. From what I've gathered, either our fans act terrible or are fantastic. It's never any middle ground. But given how uneducated and undeservingly entitled most of our fans are, they really make the entire Iowa fanbase look bad.

The worst thing is that our students, like any other group of students, can be dumb and drunk. But they are usually never the worst offenders. That goes to the middle aged Iowa fan who has nothing better to do than look forward to than driving 5 hours to Iowa City for 7 Saturdays each fall and act like they would have 20 years earlier if they actually attended the university, leering at 18 year old chicks and drunkenly telling Michigan fans how much better of a program they have.

You know what, you're absolutely right, I was out of line (though I really need you to work on the difference between 'your' and 'you're'). I stand by my point that I really don't like ANY fan bases taking it outside of the game itself and in a work setting is inappropriate. I do believe that oftentimes the fans that take it to a different, non-justifiable, level are those that didn't even attend any of the institutions involved and I guess that just rubs me the wrong way. This isn't attributable to one team, and despite what you claimed, I wasn't just singling out OSU. Either way, mea culpa and really best of luck to your OSU Buckeyes this weekend (I'm actually rooting for you guys).

11) Nebraska (8 commits? Really?)

I haven't gotten to much into recruiting yet at this point in the season. Are we really up that far? Last I heard we were outside the top 25 recruiting classes. I would have imagined some of the other teams would be ahead of us, at least until Urban is official :P
