The USC Trojans recruiting class of 2012 added another player on Thursday, as safety Elijah Steen from Irvine (Calif.) Beckman High School said that he has given a verbal commitment to the Trojans.
“It’s done,” Steen said. “It’s USC. It was down to USC and UCLA, I just called the UCLA coaches to let them know.”
Steen (6-foot-1, 205 pounds) is a member of the class of 2012, but didn’t not sign on LOI day because the only offer he had at the time was from UC Davis. A senior year highlight tape that was sent out in January changed that, however, as offers eventually came in from Minnesota, BYU, California, Boston College, UCLA and USC.
First round came and went, no Jameis Winston. I'll feel good if he makes it past round 2 and there isn't the worry a team like NYY or Boston overpays to get him.
Not aware of the university, or that it was Steen's only offer before his Senior tape was available?
Steen is a Walk On. USC has not awarded him a scholarship.

With the new MLB draft rules teams like that arent going to give him the type of money he wants after the 1st round.

Derrick Henry looks like he may be another Julio Jones/Trent Richardson level freak skill position player playing for Bama. He looks scary. Then again maybe he won't even play RB, but I still want him to change his mind back to UGA...
