This was probably best case. Pascoe might run FB reps for the first weeks. Hopefully Hynoski is a good rehabber.

I disagree, use that spot for another LB or CB. We have Webster, Ross, Prince, and Hosley. Not a big time CB corps, especially with Webster and Ross who are average at best.

I don't want a 7th WR. Screw that! And no we don't need a FB if we have a versatile guy in bear P who can play that and TE if need be.

Any CB left on the market sucks and will never see the field. Ditto for LB.

Why would you want a waste of a roster spot instead of a player who can actually add value on the field?

Very surprised to hear about Nicks unhappy with his contract. Maybe he should have asked for one last off-season? Just seems like coming off of the year he had, battling all those injuries, with his total numbers on the year, asking for 10+ million isn't the wisest thing to do at the moment.

Do you guys think that if by some chance Randle shows he is a legit outside WR this year in an expanded role you guys let 1 of Cruz or Nicks walk? Seems like you could keep both if you wanted, but I don't know, seems like Nicks' actions may rub some people in the organization the wrong way.

Pascoe needs to get some competition against him. We need more production from that position, and hopefully we can create some competition there.

Wouldn't surprise me at all if we replace Nicks with Randle. Nicks won't get an extension this year. If he's lucky he gets one next year, he could get franchised.

But if Randle plays well and Nicks continues to be injury prone, it would not surprise me if we let him walk. Nicks is holding out for nothing, he has absolutely no leverage.

You still bring them in because our depth isn't good. Ross has leg issues or did with us, and Webster at this point is a gamble. We preach versatility so we have Bear who can do the job. Why else keep Bear then? Versatility. He can play TE and FB. Same with our OL draft picks. Versatility.

How would bringing in a poor player improve our depth? You're just adding another poor player to the back of the bench. That solves nothing.

More doesn't always mean better. At the end of the day, you want to acquire the most talent. Adding a 7th CB who will surely be less talented than another FB to replace Hynoski doesn't make our roster more talented.

We need other Cbs. Remember past years with guys like Dockery, and Bruce Johnson. You will need guys like that. It's a good move. You need other guys especially since Ross is near Mariano Riveras age and Webster is a gamble at this point.

No one said more is better. We have the ability to scour and find a CB that can play the role Dockery and Johnson did for us.

We have a FB. It's not like bear never played it before. Again, it comes down to versatility. What the F is the point of having versatile guys if you won't use them as such?

So it turns out that the Nicks absence has nothing to do with his contract. That's some more good news for the day.

We re signed? Barden! Power move! Great move. He is an amazing red zone threat and hopefully he can break his record of 0 TDs and get 1.

Good depth sign. Nothing wrong with having him as our 6th WR that doesn't dress.

I don't mind. He's a solid depth guy. He'll never become what we hoped but for a cheap depth guy it's good value.

Hopefully the FA experience humbles him. I think he thought he was a lot better than he really is.

Maybe he takes his craft more seriously now.

How is it terrible? He knows the system, he's been productive in the system. It's not a great signing, not a terrible signing. If someone outplays him during camp you cut him.

Obviously not well enough to be productive. And he doesn't play special teams. Here are guys I take before him.

L. Robinson
Spurlock who can play specials. KR
Derek Hagan who can we and special teams
Devry Henderson
Steve Breaston

I'd take all those guys before a Wr who is not productive and doesn't play specials.

I do agree with the cut him part and thus I am not sure hr is a lock to make it.

I'd rather have him if someone gets hurt than another WR who has to learn the system. It's a very good depth signing. It's not like we're relying on him to replace a starter.

Ok I can see where you're coming from. Who's to say any of those guys outside of Hagan would be vet minimum guys though? They probably wouldn't be.

And at this point I think Barden surpasses Hagan bc Hagan is getting older now.

Well you are right there but I have to think all these guys have two options.

Sign and get on a team or run the risk of early retirement. Mind you this Barden was the guy who said its probably best to move on. However , no one brought him in for a visit. So of course his comments are glsd to be back and this is where I want to be.

Not believable.. If he had a shot to sign on for a fresh start he would take it.

But one of those guys listed I would guess don't want to be phased out. I actually liked Hagan. Those guys listed above were more productive and or play specials. Ramses doesn't play specials and he is useless even in the red zone.

Exactly. I love reading NYG's posts when it comes to x's and o's and I don't often disagree with him on that side of the game, but man, it's like he's always trying to always disagree with me when it comes to personnel decisions. Barden is another such example. He knows the system enough to have ahd a couple big game between his injuries, he blocks well, and if the FA experience helped him get his head really into this he could turn out to be a very nice depth addition.

And at this point I think Barden surpasses Hagan bc Hagan is getting older now.
Even if they did, we'd have to teach them the system, and our system is a ***** to teach guys, so I'd rather have more guys who know the system around Randle to answer his questions and give him tips while letting the coaches focus more of their attention on him.

I think Barden was a good re-signing. We need some WR depth, especially with two of our WRs holding out right now. Plus, with our playbook we need someone who's familiar with it.

Add some crappy linebacker or CB does nothing for us right now. At the moment we need WRs.

Nicks is not holding out Alex. The original report was incorrect. Just a heads up.

Haha, no no, it's not like that, I can assure you. BBD and I disagree a lot, but I try to present a well articulated post, and if we agree cool, if not, then so be it. At least I got him to understand where I am coming from which is good enough. He isn't a stubborn guy, so if one articulates one's self well, then I can at least understand the point.
