Default Week 1: Colts

That game had no business being that close. Saying the team took their foot off the gas in the second half is an understatement... they parked the damn car, got out and had a long snooze under a tree.

I can't stomach the "kill clock + prevent D" that Fox goes whenever we have a big lead. How about "drive the ******* knife right into their throats" approach instead?

Yeah, I walked away from that one with a bad taste in my mouth. We looked terrible running the ball, and while we pushed the pocket decently on def we didn't get to Luck anywhere near enough times. The passing attack was okay, but we still struggled to get guys open/catch the ball. Vontae Davis must love playing us. We also seem to be able to make pretty boneheaded plays on a regular basis in all three phases.

At least we are solid enough on both sides of the ball that we can play poorly and still win.

No question Ball was slowed by his recent operation. Why they didn't pull him out and bring in CJ (who looked much quicker) is beyond me. Franklin was flat-out bad at guard unless he was just locking up with the guy in front of him.

Pretty much all the guys who've been limited or are coming back from injuries looked totally gassed (Von being the prime example). Lots of conditioning work to be done over the next few weeks.

The other part is that the DBs need to stick to their guys closely. Luck was slinging it quickly to escape the rush... there were a number of INTs to be had out there that we missed.

The drops were awful. DT was the worst offender, but there were others too. Some of those were going to be huge gains too. The most frustrating part is that the mistakes in the passing game seemed to mount as the Colts got close. Clutch, we are not.
