I have to imagine TV fans are ******** themselves thinking that Tyrion and Snow are going to die. After those two, I'm not sure who else they have left. Dany and Arya?

Disappointed in the lack of Stoneheart. Also the Stannis bit definitely could have been included at the end of the last episode.

McGee just predicted Clegane Bowl in the other thread, haha.

Overall I really liked the episode minus the lack of Stoneheart. The Hound vs. Brienne was awesome. I think that was the best single combat scene we've seen yet.

I did not like the episode at all. It seemed really rushed, especially the Tyrion part. They wasted so much damn time in the last episode, they could have easily fit the Stannis part in, and actually given the whole patricide thing some more time.

I'm not sure I am a fan of how they decided to go about Bran's fight/the Children. Kind of reminded me of something I'd expect to see on SyFy. But the Brienne-Hound brutal fight scene immediately afterwards made up for it.

I agree on the rushed Tyrion part, would have liked to see more interaction with either Jaime or his father.

So just like with Grenn and Pyp dying, I guess they decided there is no future story for Jojen. That was a big bummer for me.

But yea, they definitely rushed to cram everything in this episode. Should have put the Stannis/Wall stuff in last episode. Needed more time with Tyrion's escape and for all the build up the story makes of Bran finding the three eyed crow, they just show him getting there and that's it? Lame.

Did the three eyed crow say A Thousand Eyes and One in the books? Because if he did then there is some major foreshadowing there.

The end of AFFC is when their relationship is over when Jaime burns Cersei's letter crying for help. However, I don't think Cersei really love Jaime (maybe back in the days, but not in present days of the books), she just manipulates him.

The end of ASOS is when Jaime is starting to have doubts about Cersei, when Tyrion tells him that "she's been f**king Lancel, Osmund Kettleblack and the Moon Boy for all I know". They cut that in the show, I have no idea why. I think Tyrion and Jaime's fallout in the books was much better than their goodbye scene in the show.

^^This. I was so disappointed that wasn't included. It really could have added a lot of emotion to that scene.

Not only that, but the actors who play Jaime, Tyrion, and Tywin are 3 of the most talented ones on the show. They could have had some fantastic dialogue had they actually gone through in a similar fashion to how it played out in the books. Granted you have to change some things up for the TV audience, but it was dumbed down to a point where it wasn't even good.

At least have Varys make a wicked smile when the bells rang for Tywin. They pretty much steamrolled his whole role in this, when in reality he manipulated Tyrion into doing it if I recall correctly. Varys is every bit the player that Littlefinger is, but the show seems to be content with him as good guy Varys.

Last night was the first time I've really been substantially disappointed with the show adaptation.

So Bran will have like 3 scenes next season? He's pretty much done storyline wise.

Jojen is close to death only because he falls into a crazy depression once they reach the tree, and I believe because he foresees his death again but it is supposed to be back at Greywater Watch. One of the biggest parts of that storyline is his ability with Greendreams and knowing, "Today is not the day I die." To have him die like that and seemingly unknowing he would is lame.

Also, the goodbye scene between Tyrion and Jaime sucked. It's part of the reason why Jaime starts to realize how ****** up everyone is and becomes a badass.

I also think they missed a ton of great scenes with the Tysha story line.
Symon Silvertoung the chain that was golden hands. The last scene with Tyrion and Jaime when he said "Yeah I killed your little bastard." The whole "wherever whores go" part with tywin. I don't get why they got rid of a huge part in the books.

I just read that the reason the Stannis scenes were so short and weren't in episode 9 was for financial reasons.

Jojen has been rumored to be Kvothe, so I see why they killed him off (kidding, though read KKC all of you).

That is something I'll never understand, change for no reason.

Budget constraints, too many characters, excitement that doesn't end changing story line (Brienne/Hound); I understand. But they removed some major character dialogue here.

Also good at no LSH, I hate her, just as I hated Catelyn.

What I really don't get is if they need filler, why are they cutting out characters and seemingly important scenes/conversations? They should just use the stuff that's already there instead of making up stuff to fill time.

Give me a link so I can rant about them wasting money on that pointless subplot with Grey Worm.

D&D never bother to tell anything to Stephen Dillane about Stannis (incredible) backstory. That shows you how much they don't care about the Mannis.

So what kind of character summary or back story did the writers of Game of Thrones give Dillane when they hired him to play Stannis?

“They didn’t. I had to fish around to get any sort of information and even then it was just ‘Oh he’s won a few battles’ and the rest of it I had to glean from the scripts. I had no idea at all, really, and that probably shows. If you look back on it, you probably see somebody standing there looking pretty bewildered, wondering what on earth is going on and where this is leading. You just have to trust that the fact that you’re in the dark is in some way playing out well.”

Kudos to Dillane who does a great job in spite of the poor material he has to work with.
