Scoring?

PPR I'd pass. Rice is better than AP even @ 100%.

Non PPR I'd consider it. Peterson's injury was awfully late to go and get him now, though. I'd lean towards standing pat with two healthy guys. Stafford is quickly rising and pushing Rodgers-like numbers, anyway.

I'm still with ESPN because that's where I started but CBS is my favorite for baseball. Never done a money league with CBS football so when I get that chance, I may ge converted. I know I hate Yahoo though.

Tried NFL.com but really didn't like it.

This year I will finally be doing a league on MFL so I'll hold judgement on that one for now, though I will say there's some excellent features there and the general feel is that it is painfully obvious it is a purpose built fantasy site. Yahoo, ESPN, CBS and NFL are all basically conglomerate mess sites and the FF experience reflects that.

Of the 'big three' (CBS/ESPN/Yahoo) I would say CBS is head and shoulders above Yahoo and ESPN. CBS has better navigation. The entire setup looks, feels and responds much cleaner. Their content, notes and player coverage is just awful, though. Bandwagoneer's abound and the updates are slow and/or nonexistent. They also make "upgrades" to the site & format every year and it's really ******* annoying, since most don't really seem like upgrades and all of them force at least a minor "re-learning" of how things work and/or where they're located. Then again, it should be much better for the ass-raping price you have to pay to host your league there.

Yahoo's only redeeming quality is that it's free. Otherwise, the general functionality is weak. The news links and navigation is poor; with everything forcing new windows. The draft function is flash based garbage that glitches and boots people way too frequently. The most succinct example of this suckitude is when a player is dropped and you see him on the list of add/drops on the league's main page you can't simply add or even watch him from there. You have to go into the player page, find the guy and then you have the add/drop, watch list, and other functionalilty. Basically, it's all done using a global pull so they can keep it cheap. They're successful, it's pretty damn cheap, figuratively and literally.

ESPN and NFL.com can just suck it. Bulky, glitchy, garbage. I avoid both sites whenever possible b/c they seem to think it's cool to cram a truckload of video down your throat on every damn page you visit, every time. No, thanks.

Looking to fill my NFL.com league if anyone is keen. Standard scoring, 10 teams with an extra WR. Live draft is Friday 18 August 1am ET (I am from New Zealand so that makes it Saturday 5pm for me). It is myself and a couple of mates and this will be our only league so it will be competitive - just hard to find enough NFL fans in New Zealand!

I just began doing mock drafts again for this upcoming year, didn't pay as much attention to FF last year and I have to rant...

My strategy the past 2-3 years has been to solidify WR w/ some of your first several picks. The thought is that it is harder to get a good, consistent WR than it was to get a good consistent RB. At that point a WR who was getting 1200-1500yrds and 8-12tds was harder to come by. So pick WRs, and then get 3-4 RBs who would get you 900-1100yrds and 7-10tds in the mid rounds.

EVERYTHING has changed! WR is so deep now, and RBs are hard to come by! **** RBBC. Seriously, it seems like the pool for good RBs has shrunk so much while the WR pool has grown.

So, my strategy is switching. Not happy about it.

Look back at the end of the season and this may not be as true as it looks right now.

Finished my keeper league draft last night. I kept Gronk, Fitz, and Helu. I didn't have a first round pick, so I was kind of limited. Most teams kept their top running backs. Here is my team:

QB: Tony Romo/Joe Flacco
RB: Doug Martin/Roy Helu/DeAngelo Williams/CJ Spiller/Rashard Mendenhall/Robert Turbin
WR: Larry Fitzgerald/Percy Harvin/Desean Jackson/Lance Moore/Vincent Brown/Ruben Randle
TE: Rob Gronkowski/Jared Cook
K:
DEF: Houston

It's 1 point PPR and I have to keep a rookie and two other players. Considering that the RB pool was **** and I didn't have a first round pick, I think I did very well for myself. I'll probably dangle Moore and Jackson for a stronger RB, though Mendenhall could help me down the stretch when he comes back.

Thoughts?

I really like the Doug Martin pick, that may save your team. Your WR/TE are awesome especially in a PPR. Obviously you have some question marks at RB but the rest of your team is strong enough to carry you.

Two drafts down and two to go. I'm getting pretty excited the season is finally about to begin. One of the two I did was my first ever dynasty (start up) which was interesting.

The only problem is that one draft was moved from the 19th to the 26th, which killed my flow. I was slated to have a draft each week through August and now I just finished the dynasty draft and have a two week lull.

I have the first pick in the draft for my 15 team league that starts in 30 minutes. I'm thinking Foster #1, best available RB/WR #30, and QB #31. I'm thinking Romo, Manning, Manning, and Rivers will be what I'll have to choose from, and I'm not sure which way to go.

I'm really torn on who to draft in my 10 Team QB Driven/PPR League

After three trades, my main picks are: 15, 20, 26, 27, 30, 34 and 55... after that they are few and far between... I know that Brees, Rodgers, Brady and Stafford will at least be gone by my first pick, so I'd like to go RB (15), WR (20), RB (26), RB for flex (27), WR (30), and QB (34), TE (55)

What QBs will be there at 34 though, that's my risk?

Thats hard to plan for because of the amount of picks in front of you. Go bpa as long as you can instead of planning positions by pick. Thats deadly. Get RG3 if youcan.

I need some help on who to keep in my keeper league, 2 separate teams though. I get to keep 4 players. 1QB 2RB 3WR 1TE format and the league slightly favors touchdowns if it matters.

Team 1
  • Eli Manning (NYG - QB)
  • Roddy White (Atl - WR)
  • Greg Jennings (GB - WR)
  • Demaryius Thomas (Den - WR)
  • Mike Williams (TB - WR)
  • Laurent Robinson (Jac - WR)
  • Doug Baldwin (Sea - WR)
  • Jimmy Graham (NO - TE)
  • Roy Helu (Was - RB)
  • Willis McGahee (Den - RB)
  • LeGarrette Blount (TB - RB)
  • Toby Gerhart (Min - RB)
  • Kevin Smith(Det - RB)
  • Baltimore (Bal - DEF)

Team 2
  • Cam Newton (Car - QB)
  • Matt Ryan (Atl - QB)
  • Calvin Johnson (Det - WR)
  • Eric Decker (Den - WR)
  • DeSean Jackson (Phi - WR)
  • Reggie Wayne (Ind - WR)
  • Aaron Hernandez (NE - TE)
  • Reggie Bush (Mia - RB)
  • BenJarvus Green-Ellis (Cin - RB)
  • Beanie Wells (Ari - RB)
  • Jonathan Stewart (Car - RB)
  • Jahvid Best (Det - RB)
  • Mike Tolbert (Car - RB)
  • Detroit (Det - DEF)

Graham, Jennings, and White are obvious picks on 1, and CJ & Newton are the only two I'm completely sure of on 2. +rep to anyone willing to help me out.

Team 1's a crap-shoot, since your RBs suck. You should probably just keep Thomas, too.

For team 2, I'd keep Bush and Decker/Stewart. You have to look at the other team's keepers in this type of situation. What positions are the redrafts going to be heavy in?
