I believe Barry played a little 3-4 DE in college. A lot of teams were looking at him in that regard when he was going through the draft process.

FA should be like this every year. It's a frenzy
Don't really need to pay attention, however, as it isn't Thompson's MO to dip into FA much so I don't expect much Packers news other than a few more cuts and maybe re-sign Crosby/Kuhn/Jackson

James Jones has been marred by inconsistency I think he like a few others is going to be someone's second choice to fill a hole. He'll find a home but a few big time drops last year has hurt his stock.

Faaaaack. He's been really good the past two years, was hoping he'd be a little overlooked with some big names out there at the position, and then we could still toss him a boatload to stay. Concerned aboutthe years in this bidding war, though.

Agree with STRIP, if the Skins ran a 4-3 right now they'd be in damn good shape. Maybe they're going to move back to one?

Jacoby Jones resigns with Houston.
And not coming to Chicago :( Really thought he'd be a great move after some Olinemen :/
...Now I'm just whining.

Raiders are talking to Jared Gaither :). We really need to add a proven player to the oline, especially with all the youth we have. Veldheer and Gaither would be a very interesting OT duo. Then you add in Wis at C, Bruce Campbell at LG/RG....

I think Justin Durant is underrated. He's got good range and speed, but he needs to be in a scheme that gives him room to work with. I've also heard that the Jags are going to a 3-4 this year and Durant would be a disaster in that scheme. I would take him on the Bears any day.

Which is exactly what scares me. I'm praying that we don't throw +$50 million on a guy who couldn't manage double digit sacks on a line with Jared Allen and the Williams brothers - he probably faced less double teams than any other DE in the league.

Per Twitter:

Filed to ESPN: Titans reached agreement with quarterback Matthew Hasselbeck on a multi-year deal.

Weddle has not been signed yet per PFT. List of suitors include Jaguars, Vikings, Browns, Chargers, Texans and Cowboys.

The Rams got a great fit with Quintin Mikell, and ditto for the Jaguars with Paul Posluszny. Both may have paid a little bit too much. I think Takeo Spikes should be a great fit in San Diego and could be one of the more underrated signings. I don't really understand why the Redskins would have paid Barry Cofield so much money. Matt Hasselbeck should fit right in as Jake Locker's mentor, and I liked the Donovan-McNabb-to-Vikings rumors - that would be a good fit as well depending on what they do with his contract. The deal is rumored to be for a sixth-rounder and a potential future sixth as well. I wonder what Kyle Orton and Kevin Kolb will fetch? Tarvaris Jackson will probably get lost in the shuffle again in Seattle, but I like taking a chance on Matt Leinart there. Charles Johnson got more money than I expected, and I think the Steelers overpaid for Ike Taylor as well as giving him too many years.

Seems like a lot of marginal-to-good players are getting an awful lot of money. It's going to be hard on teams near the cap already to sign players when guys like Paul Poslusnzy are getting $42 million contracts.

Anybody hear anything about Danieal Manning? I looks like Chicago won't be getting a big name free agent tackles or receiver, so hopefully they will resign him and salvage what has otherwise been a completely disappointing free agency period.
