I like Carr and all, but just like every single FA, he got overpaid. Flowers made him look better than he really is, and I don't think he'll be able to match his success in KC as a Cowboy. Won't be bad, but I don't think he'll justify 10 million a season.

Eagles give DeSean Jackson a 5 year/$51m deal.

Getting educated...yeah, cause I never knew he was a TD giving machine.
Stay cool scotty.

And funny, that "raping" still didn't seem to do much for the cowboys now, did it?
and he tore his ACL in pre-season last year, so he should be pretty damn close to, if no, 100% by the time the season roles around
|
I was kidding around, I like Thomas and wanted the Cowboys to pick him up.
As for the Giants, I will admit it's better to be the luckiest team in the history of sports than actually being a good football team. Got me there.
TT still wets his bed from Dez nightmares though.

Every year we hear about every FA being overpaid. It's all relative. Once you understand that, then you'll lose that opinion.

TD giving machine? one TD every other game really isn't that bad. And it was what, his 2nd year? I'm also comparing deals, and how Carr is getting nearly double the amount of money that Thomas got, which is overpaying.

Mike Jenkins is a good CB when healthy. People keep saying that Carr isn't a number #1 CB and he may not be, but he doesn't really have to be. I know that contract says that he should be the number 1, but he will just be a starter with Jenkins. They are both similar players and Jenkins may actually be better if he realizes his potential and stays healthy. The Cowboys don't rotate CBs to follow WRs. They will each play their side. There really isn't a #1.

The Bucs still have about $18 million to spend and they haven't even cut Faine yet, which would save them even more money.
They can make a move for another starter if they desire, but I think they're simply looking for depth at this point.

Eagles sign Desean to 5 year contract. Actually surprised on that one, thought he was on his way out of philly.

Well, it is still a loss of a starter and with Fanene gone, Sims likely gone and Geathers another year older it is a not the strong spot on the team it was a year ago. When you combine the losses noted, it weakens the DL unit dramatically.

These WR numbers sure do make me feel like Wes Welker will be trade bait next month.

Because he doesn't actually see the field. There's no more cushier job available than to be backing up a Manning.

I know that every year they get overpaid, which is why most FAs who are considered overpaid don't finish out their deals.
As for Carr, I get it, Dallas needed a good CB and they got him. They just paid more than he's worth. They paid what they had to to ensure they got him, but he's still overpaid. It's meh to ok for me, certainly not bad. He's good and 26, and will probably contribute well, but I just can't really justify 10 million for him. He doesn't seem that good to me.
In any case, this year could be good for teams giving out huge deals because of how the cap room will increase in upcoming years. That will also help out Pitt and all our restructures. The more years pass, the better off we are, as the cap room keeps growing.

He also won me a fantasy game once by throwing a bomb TD to Nicks in garbage time. I was going up against Eli so normally it would have cancelled out somewhat. So Carr will always have that going for him in my eyes.
