Hmmm...mediocre quarterback play is better than terrible quarterback play though. That could be our near future. Bleh.

The Dolphins are so desperate, after losing out on Peyton Manning and Matt Flynn, that they're now willing to significantly overpay a borderline NFL starter at near the level of franchise quarterback money. Matt Flynn only got $6.33M annually from the Seahawks. Smith isn't as physically talented as incumbent Dolphins starter Matt Moore, and he's certainly not worth more than Flynn. At this point, it's almost like the Fins are trying to sign a quarterback, just to sign a quarterback.

Matt Flynn got more than 8. Don't know where you got 6.3.
Edit, I see its an incentive deal. My bad.

Our moves have been meh.
Wharton is alright but is only a stop gap.
Allen is bleh.
Keeping Reggie is HUGE with the ****** crop of safeties. He isn't the best but Zimmer puts him in positions to succeed.
We still need to add CB and DL depth in FA.

We traded Brandon Marshall and didn't sign Matt Flynn....
Both the Ricky offseason and Nick Saban offseason were far worse. This one is just kinda sad.

Why are the dolphins so reluctant to give Matt Moore a chance next year? 6-3 as a starter with 16 TDs and 9 INT is ******* good

We also need another RB and a #2 WR seen Stupido Jerome Simpson will be suspended and may or may not be re-signed.

Yep.
We still also have to re-sign Pat Sims.

Now, if we get official word about Smith to Miami, then Manning to Titans/Broncos?
San Fransisco?

I've read that if Peyton goes to Tennessee, the 49ers would go after Hasselbeck who would be almost certainly released in that situation.
Pretty much a lateral move from Smith to Hasselbeck.

lolz at Miami. They'd be better off saving their money and giving Matt Moore the job.

That would only be acceptable if they draft someone too. Moore is at his ceiling, he's not a franchise QB. Limping through 16 games with him as the only starting caliber QB on the roster is just a waste of a year.

It's not like they are going to do anything this year with Bass as their best WR. Focus on siging lineman or w/e suck this year and draft Barkley or Wilson.

Moore is a perfectly fine QB, and they're not going to do any better in the draft (although I do like Cousins, but not for this year).

Who is the one actually doing the interviews in Miami? All they seem to be doing as of lately is swing and miss. Poor guys. That said, Tannehill is a very likely option and could still let Matt Moore start another season so they don't rush him.

No such thing. You're either good enough to win a Superbowl or your not. He's not. Not this year. Not ever.
He is a placeholding mediocre game manager and should be treated as such.
I'm not saying that Alex Smith is, but they need to have something other than Matt Moore. You can't just waste seasons "building your team."
A year of Moore/Smith throwing to Bess and Hartline is a laughable thought. Miami is ******.

Jeff Ireland (born in a Denny's parking lot in Abilene, Texas) is the most incompetent human being in the history of existence. He has previously served as an executive for the Dallas Cowboys, a team he still dearly loves, proving so by signing every player the Cowboys cut to the Miami Dolphins franchise, a scout for the Kansas City Chiefs and an assistant coach for the North Texas Mean Green. He played college football for the Baylor Bears. As a child he was a ball boy for the Chicago Bears (pun intended).

I really don't think that one has anything to do with Miami. San Francisco is by far the best place for Alex Smith. There he has a chance to be on a playoff team and possibly go to the Super Bowl. Plus he gets to continue with the coaching staff that has brought out his best. If he goes to Miami he's playing for a bottom feeder and could revert to his old craptastic self.

So why are the Dolphins having a hard time luring free agents to South Beach? Steelers safety Ryan Clark has a theory.
After Clark congratulated quarterback Matt Flynn on joining the Seahawks via Twitter, one of Clark’s followers writes that “NO ONE wants to go to the Dolphins!” Clark responds by saying, “No one! To believe I almost went there but it was easy decision not to.”
Clark was referring to his decision in 2010 to stay with the Steelers in lieu of joining the Dolphins.
So what’s the issue? Clark later says, “It’s my honest opinion. Not a good guy making decisions.”
Here’s referring, presumably, to G.M. Jeff Ireland.
Clark didn’t specifically say whether other players share his opinion, but it’s implied in the “No one!” tweet.
If it’s true, the Dolphins need to find a way to fix the situation. If it’s not true, the Dolphins need to find a way to reverse a false perception.

I believe it was the Dolphins organization that asked Dez Bryant if his mom was a prostitute? Yeah, that's not a good interview question.
