Not a bad deal if he is healthy. They still need a WR in the draft though.

I really don't see it on tape, there are so many other players that I see better explosion but I guess the false steps and indecisiveness is a reason for it.

They won't get to the playoffs, so I'm guessing it's a decent signing.

Trent Williams, Fred Davis, and Tanard Jackson all on the same team is pure hilarity, all should be banned this year lmao.

What are you talking about? Did they all get caught for substance abuse?

Apparently the Rams still have a lot of interest in Jerome Simpson. Wonder how much that changes the Rams draft plans if at all. Simpson and Steve Smith isn't great but it is 10x better than we had last year.

From PFT/Rotoworld:

Multiple league sources tell Profootballtalk.com that Redskins LT Trent Williams tested positive for banned substances ten times in September and October, leading to his year-ending suspension.

I never saw what people liked about him so much coming out of college, he didn't seem to have the athleticism on film everyone wanted to say he did.

Bears agreed to terms with OG Chilo Rachal, formerly of the 49ers, on a one-year contract.
|
Have fun with that Bears fans. He is a decent run blocker but a poor pass protector. So long as he is a backup it will be fine IMO, but if he beats out Spencer or whomever for the RG spot then you will likely hear Jay scream out "Dammit Chilo!".

Man i am so happy he is gone. So much penalty's and really really bad pass pro. But he has the physical tools and is still young so who know if he will become better.

If he's adequate at any part of playing an offensive line position, he's a potential upgrade.
I'm sorry to spout off about it so often, but I don't think everyone fully realizes just how bad the o-line has been the last two years. Your worst lineman is likely an upgrade to one of our starters.
Jeff Backus excluded of course.

When one of the offensive lineman on the Bears can start 176 consecutive games, we shall talk.

The guy is Frank Omiyale level bad. Gets abused in pass pro everytime he's in the game. I'll miss him on the Niners.

Omiyele was soft as tissue paper and his biggest weakness was run blocking. Out of all the positions he got moved around to on the Bears, the only one where he wasn't completely horrible was LT. When he was inside at G or at RT and we tried to run behind him, he'd get stood straight up if not get driven straight into the backfield. He was horrible.

Have the rams upgrade their receiving core? or are they going to stick with that crappy core?

They signed Steve Smith and might sign Jerome Simpson.
So yea, it'll still be pretty crappy.

WR is probably the deepest position in this draft. If they add a legit #1 in the first 2 rounds (Blackmon, Floyd, Jeffery, Randle, Hill, etc.) to grow with Bradford, the rest of their receiving core is filled with role players who could surprise. Amendola, Pettis, Salas, Smith isn't the worst thing I've ever seen, although it isn't ideal.

Amendola will be coming back from an injury and is a slot receiver at best, Pettis and Salas were virtually non-existant last year and Steve Smith rates about a .5 on a scale of 10 when it comes to "burst." He didn't appear able to "take off" for the life of him in Philly.
Adding a 2nd rounder to the mix (let's be honest, Jeff Fisher isn't exactly known for his propensity of valuing the WR position) isn't going to do a whole damn lot.

Steve Smith wasn't going to do anything last year. Everyone knew that. This is the year he should be healthy enough to do something.
Pettis and Salas - You kind of expect young players to take steps forwards. Just because they didn't do anything last year doesn't really mean anything.
Amendola - Yeah, he's a slot guy. So what?

It's easily one of if not the weakest WR corps in the league.
