I'll take a stab at it:
1. Dashon Goldson
2. Ed Reed
3. William Moore
4. Adrian Wilson
5. Charles Woodson
6. Louis Delmas
7. LaRon Landry
8. Dawan Landry
9. Chris Clemons
10. Pat Chung
11. Kenny Phillips
12. Glover Quin

Is Ed Reed really still good enough to be the #2 FA safety?

Having Phillips 11 on that list is laughable.

There is a really long list of starting Safeties and CB's available in Free Agency, longer then usual it seems. It's also combined with a deep CB and Safety draft class, I think that's why there seems to be a snowball effect with teams not in a rush to sign any of their own guys.

Was just coming to post that.
We are usually pretty good with our contracts, so if he shows any decline after his first couple years they would likely have outs given how much money he's going to command.

Probably not. I know I'd put at least Goldson, Moore, and Delmas above him. I'm still hoping the Ravens re-sign him though. If they don't there's a gaping hole at FS. This deep class should only help with that since it probably drives down his price a bit.

Guys I loved Pat Chung, I have his jersey/T-Shirt thing, watched his college highlight video maybe 20 times, had a sig of him for a year, and thought he was a future top 10 safety. With that being said he doesn't belong on any of these lists, especially over Ed Reed, even if he's declined.

I'm not sure how to rank them. In terms of how good they are right now? How much money they will make? How much I'd pay for them? I will say that I don't know if any of them are particularly safe investments, whether for age, durability, or consistency.

If the Browns sign a OLB... Does that put them for DT or CB for the draft?
Lets say the sign Avril to team up with Sheard. OLB are set.
So I look at it they can go two ways.
Star or Sharrif as a DE to team up with Taylor and Winn
or
Milliner to team up with Haden.
FA will tell a lot about what the browns will do at 6.

I definitely think the Browns are going to land Avril or Kruger. The one that doesn't will be a Colt.

Don't rule out Cordarrelle Patterson either, their wide receivers are as thin as Donald Trump's hair. Only Gordon deserves to be on the roster.

Connections to both there. Obviously Kruger played for Pagano in Baltimore. And both Avril and our GM played at Purdue. For anything approaching $10 mil per year though I'd rather just draft a pass rusher. I like both players but more as really good #2 rushers. Not primary.

Travis Benjamin looks like he could be a nice slot guy. And Gordon like you said should be a nice player, but everyone else don't get it done.

Yeah I wouldn't want Kruger to be the #1 pass-rusher on a team either. Even though Suggs wasn't very good this year when he came back is when Kruger really started to shine (again). His best role is as a #2 pass-rusher and/or a situational player.

According to Profootballtalk.com, there is "speculation in league circles" that the Cardinals are "waiting" for the Raiders to release Carson Palmer.
|
Palmer? Behind that line? I think we have an early candidate for the first on-field death Goodall is so worried about.
I sure hope that if he is released he finds a landing spot more suited to his poor mobility. Maybe he can be that veteran backup that the Vikings are looking for.

I'm sure Arians would do everything up to and including blowing Palmer to get him to Arizona.

Kruger wasn't even a full time player, but he still has room to grow. People called him a bust for a bit there, but now he is a legit pass rusher which not every team has. I'd be a little bit leery about signing Ravens defensive FAs. Not a whole lot do great once they leave.
I really hope he goes to Indy so I don't have to hope for him to fail with the Browns. Indy is one of my favorite teams now. They are only behind the Ravens & Broncos and now bumping down the 9ers.
