It's sad to see Hasselbeck like this, regulated to backup duty as his career fizzles to an undramatic ending.

You're right. We have an easy schedule this year. I don't think 9 or 10 wins is completely out of the question, and once it happens people will slob all over Andy Reid and Alex Smith, saying what great moves they made and maybe they can challenge for the SB soon!.. and then they'll proceed to tumble back down to earth when they have a schedule with a pulse.

It's the 2010 Chiefs all over again and I fell for it then, I'm not falling for this **** twice.

So do a lot of people, but they'll be mediocre to decent this year and awful next year.

i would really like the defense if they take star #1, Milliner too i suppose

Star, Poe, Bailey/Jackson
Tamba, Johnson, Houston
Berry, Flowers....thats a decent amount of star power for a defense

The Rams are expressing no concerns over a position change for Rodger Saffold.
"It's not an issue," coach Jeff Fisher said Monday. Newly signed Jake Long will be the left tackle, which means Saffold will be forced back to the less glamorous side. His agent previously hinted that switch could result in a trade request. "We'll sit down and discuss that internally with the player and even his agent," GM Les Snead said. "But Rodger's a team player and he's young. If he comes in and consistently plays like he did at the end of last year, Rodger will be fine." Source: St Louis Post-Dispatch Mar 19 - 9:37 AM

Just posting this since Holt Bruce was the only person who thought Jake Long signed a contract to play RT for some reason.

Here's a guy who will be 38 when the season starts and can make a few million dollars a year for the next couple of years without getting his jersey dirty. Can't feel too bad for him.

I wonder if the Rams will shop Saffold? I would be open to a 2nd rounder, then take a player like Fluker with one of their 1sts. Saffold will be a FA at the end of the year, so I'm sure if somebody would want to risk a 2nd. But he's a damn good LT. He's just not that great of a run blocker, so I don't think RT is a good fit.

@AdamSchefter: Browns WR Josh Cribbs failed physical with Cardinals, per ESPN Cleveland. A meniscus issue. However Cribbs still could sign with AZ later.

Anyone trading a 2nd round pick for Saffold would no doubt do it pending him signing a longer term deal. Not sure what the benefit is of trading a guy then having to go out and draft his replacment. Yeah if you could get Fluker pretty much straight up it would be a good move but i doubt he lasts to the second round.

I think it would really come down to whether Saffold is or isn't comfortable playing RT in the future and making RT money or LT money.

I don't think it's so much the Rams would want to do that, but to have a guy under contract for one season and then let him walk or trade a guy for a 2nd and draft a guy in the first?

From a financial standpoint also, Fluker would be less expensive than Saffold in the next few years

Backup QB is the best job in the NFL.

Especially when you are Matt's age.

Jim Sorgi had the best job in America for years.

Safford needs to sit down and shut and accept the position change to the right side.

Please don't tell me Safford is really this much of a whiny jerk.
Just play RT, be dominant, help Sam Bradford have a career year and win 10 games and Safford's value with be through the roof.

Trading good young players under contract without attempting to resign them, then drafting their replacements, if you get lucky, is bad team management.
