I feel like this is one of those games that will stay close for a while, then LSU will just explode with a couple unanswered TDs and run away with it.

That's the kind of pace I'm feeling right now as well. MSU can hang because they can stop the run, but probably not forever. Only chance they have is if Lee starts making big mistakes.

On punt returns, what ever happened to the "rule" that the punt returner puts his heels on the 10 yard line. More and more especially in college, I'm seeing punt returners making mistakes and giving their team bad field position.

Hahaha, I was literally thinking this exact thing. I remembered hearing it for years and years, college and pro, but recently it seems it gets ignored.
All I can figure is that coaches are getting overly conservative and would rather start at the 5 than risk it bouncing and being downed even closer than that.

If they were trying to return them, I could see it, but many of them are just fair catching it.

There are pretty much 3 outcomes to letting the ball go over your head in that situation.
A) Ball bounces into the endzone for a touchback.
B) Ball takes a good bounce. (Not towards the endzone)
C) They actually down the kick.
2 of the 3 outcomes are in the return team's favor.

Is it me or does Lee throw a really ugly ball? His passes seem pretty wobbly and his release is just weird. I can't really pinpoint what's wrong though.

He's just not very good. He's had every chance in the world to be the guy at LSU and he just can't do it.
With that being said, MSU is getting beat up on these quick throws right now.

Yeah, I agree on that. A few of the "analysts" have said that Lee can lead them to the National Title game but I just can't see it. No chance they beat 'Bama with him and I'm sure they trip up somewhere else.

He just doesn't appear to be real accurate and the ball does flutter in a strange way.

As boring as this is...this is the first time I've actually seen good defensive football played all year haha.

I take it back, let me rephrase:
Why is this game so ******* awful? All three phases of these teams are playing like garbage.

did they describe this as "deadlocked"? can the FCC start handing out fines for poor adjective choices?

Craig James just said this is THE best division in college football. Dude, you cannot say that when it's ******* 6-6 in the 3rd quarter. This isnt a defensive struggle, a smashmouth game, or even a field position battle.
How is LSU #3?

Is Relf seriously ********? Seriously? He makes Byron Leftwich look fast. It's like there's a half second delay before he does ANYTHING.
