I'd rate the Coaches Poll as the most accurate especially as you get down into the teens and beyond.
There is no way IMO, that Alabama still gets to the National Championship game unless Oklahoma St., Stanford and Boise St. lose a game. This could be the year, the BCS allows Boise St. into the NCG, to quiet all the complainers who think the BCS won't give a TCU or a Boise St. a shot.
Wouldn't it be funny if Georgia beats LSU in the SEC Conference championship game and Boise and either Oklahoma St., or Stanford have to play for the National Championship with the SEC left out.

No big deal. If either Oklahoma State or Stanford goes undefeated, they'll get in and Alabama will be in the Sugar Bowl. Oklahoma State already has the edge on Alabama. Beating Oregon will really help Stanford's human and computer rankings.
Even Boise State has a chance. Their computer rankings are decent. Beating TCU and San Diego State should help. Georgia continuing to win will to. I'd be shocked if there is an LSU-Alabama rematch. Nobody wants to see that snooze fest again.

I think that's part of the problem. The rest of the country doesn't have an appreciation for the quality of defenses that were on the field Saturday night in Tuscaloosa.
They think "good football" is watching two teams who can't get off blocks, can't cover, can't tackle, can't rush the passer, blow coverage after coverage, and can't even spell defense... run up and down the field on each other in 45-42 games.
That's not football. That's a tennis match.
I can't wait to see one of these "good football teams" run into LSU or Alabama in a bowl game and get completely shut down by these defenses. It will happen.

Unfortunately neither LSU or Alabama have a whole lot at QB and that will always make them vulnerable in big games against opponents that do.
I knew in the pre season that Alabama wasn't a threat to win the National Championship, you don't win one without an experienced, solid QB.
LSU has a shot but it won't be as easy as some people think.
I still think Georgia has a strong shot against LSU in the conference championship.

Worked pretty well when Utah out manned Alabama a couple of years ago.

I think if Stanford beats Oregon and closes the season out undefeated, they will jump Oklahoma State in the BCS rankings.
I clearly think LSU and Bama are the 1 and 2 teams in the country, but I don't know if we'll even see a rematch. It's usually not likely.
And btw, what is CBS Sports smoking? Really? Oklahoma State ranked ahead of LSU? Haha wow. Who has Oklahoma State really played? The Big 12 is weak.

They really don't have much at QB, but there's plenty of national championships between these two where they didn't have much at QB.
In fact, it's usually the other team they face in the title game that comes in with the Heisman Trophy winner/candidate at QB... and get blown out.
These two defenses will make average QB's look bad, and great QB's look average/bad.
Alabama and Auburn both just went undefeated and won national championships back-to-back with 1st year starters at QB.
Neither Alabama or LSU have been in a close game all season until they faced each other for a reason.
UGA has no chance against LSU in Atlanta.

Meh.... that was still a Mike Shula team Saban was coaching. That was the worst team Saban was ever going to have at Alabama.
Although I believe that Utah team would've beaten anybody in the country that year.
Great example though... got anymore?

Nick Saban gets his kids ready for every game. Regardless if they were down due to that loss or not, the point is they got manhandled on the line of scrimmage all game long.
I can't wait to see Stanford,OK State, or Boise whoop on one of these SEC teams.

Gonna be funny when the SEC has another national title. When's the last time another team won? Most of you were in middle school, lol.

Haven't you heard. This is the year Stanford, Ok State or Boise bucks the trend.

Oregon and WV were both supposed to trash LSU this year too.
Really though, THE SEC has to have hiccups against each other pretty much.
I wouldn't mind seeing LSU lose to make the locals **** and stop pretending they've always been fans, but I can't see them losing to a Non SEC in an important game.
I just like to stir the pot because people get so sensitive about the SEC thing around here, but they really are a step ahead, the top teams anyway.

Alabama didn't get manhandled at the line of scrimmage. The problem was Bama wasn't prepared for the fast paced, no huddle offense that Utah came out in to start the game. Utah was up 3 TD's 6 minutes into the game.
Bama's All-American left tackle, and top 10 pick in the draft (Andre Smith) didn't even play. He was out for supposedly having contact with an agent. The backup left tackle was injured and went out early in the game. Bama had 3rd stringers playing on the offensive line, and in positions they'd never played before.

That's their only hope. Let the top teams in the SEC knock each other off and then run their mouth about how overrated both teams are and how they don't have a quarterback.
Then the team/conference with the stat padding quarterbacks get manhandled when they face one of these brutes from the SEC.
Sears Trophy.
Rinse. Repeat.

Ironically, the closest national championship game the SEC has played in recently was last year when Auburn had the best QB in the country, and Heisman Trophy winner.
Why? Because their defense wasn't up to snuff.

It still shouldn't matter if your undefeated you should be ahead of everyone else in the rankings again no matter of the conference. But again everyone is all over the SEC because they are more powerful conference . Just such a shame.

Oh so you think Hawaii should have been playing for it all the year Georgia destroyed them? If schedules & conferences don't matter then anyone can just schedule all cupcakes and should be allowed to play for the national title.

I love how all the defenders of the BCS said that with OK State playing Oklahoma, LSU playing Alabama, and Stanford playing USC and Oregon, we already have a playoff within the season. Now, Alabama loses. In a playoff, you lose you're out right? Nope, Alabama should get a rematch.

Did people really think that game on Saturday was a snooze-fest? I loved it! I love seeing games like that, just old-school drag 'em out brawls where the teams just hammer on eachother all game. I don't need to see fireworks and scoreboards exploding to enjoy a game, that was a war and was great to watch.
To jump into the discussion going on right now, I think a good defence will always shut down a good offence the majority of the time. That's why I thought that Alabama had a very realistic shot at the national championship prior to Saturday night, pretty much everybody on that defence is an NFL calibre player. I still feel that they could compete for a title even though they're probably not going to get another shot at LSU, they should have won that game but they couldn't get out of their way in order to make it happen. The missed FGs and mistakes like the 12 men in the huddle penalty or McCarron not throwing the ball away and eating a sack in OT as well as the INT inside the 5 all contributed to them losing more than anything LSU did (aside from playing stingy defence).
As for LSU, I think that the only team with a good shot at upsetting them is Stanford. There's no way Oklahoma State is going to put up 52 points on that defence. Stanford is the most balanced team in the country and they've got the best QB to boot which might be enough, they just need to take care of business first and hope the computers are friendly. Other than that, I think LSU is in cruise control now.

I haven't really heard anybody saying Alabama deserves a rematch, only that the possibility of it exists.
If Oklahoma St. loses to Oklahoma, Stanford loses to Oregon, Boise St. loses to TCU, who the hell deserves to be playing LSU in the title game?
You want to see Oregon get blown out again? Oklahoma who lost at home to Texas ****ing Tech? Stanford who has a quarterback and nothing else, who lost to a team LSU blew out of the stadium back in September?
Here's an idea... how about the team that had to miss 4 field goals to lose to LSU, and was at a 6-6 stalemate with 'em after 60 minutes of football?
Nope... that would make too much sense, and wouldn't appease the whiny a**es that can't seperate great defensive football from bad offensive football, no matter how many times they see it.
