Houston is still behind Boise. You and I have as much of a chance as Houston does at playing for the championship.

It's better than when Big 12 teams pretend to play defense.

Bill Curry is the coach at Georgia State, not Georgia Southern. Good try though.
Things like these happened in the past...

LSU has not played 2 good teams in a row this season (no, Mississippi State is not good, sorry). They'll play Arky and the SEC East winner in the conference championship.

Alabama could bench every starter and play all of their freshman and they'd still win by 30 points.
For the most chaos in the SEC, Arkansas needs to beat LSU...then Georgia wins the SEC championship game. That would be like 10 monkey wrenches thrown into the system.

Not happening until at least 2015, sorry.
Still, I hope my children (maybe my grandchildren) will get to see a fair system for college football.

So, if this happens...
Georgia will make it to the Sugar, Arkansas and Alabama would get an at-large bid... LSU would miss the BCS?
Wait, wait... 3 SEC teams can't be in... Both Bama and LSU would miss the BCS??

Would Duke be 0-7 in the CAA in the FCS? Duke lost to Richmond in week 1. Richmond has 3 wins on the including Duke. So, uh Duke, drop football, u guys suck.

I'm not sure about that, but, yeah, Duke sucks.
And Pittsburgh almost lost to Maine, and guess what, they'll join the ACC.

If that happens, no way Arkansas gets in over Bama/LSU. Georgia gets their bowl for winning the SEC and the rest of the bowls duke it out to take one of Bama or LSU. Arky would be up ****'s creek even though they deserve it. It would be another Oklahoma/Texas/Texas Tech scenario. Well, just in the sense that three would be vying for their shot at the title game.

Okay, what if Bama loses to Auburn? Both LSU and Bama would be 10-2 and Arky would be 11-1.

If Bama and LSU are both 10-2, Georgia wins the SEC and Arky is at one loss only, then wouldn't it be obvious that Arky would be the at-large? I doubt they'd wanna deal with the outcry that would come of passing up Arky especially if they beat LSU.

The only way for 3 SEC schools to be in BCS bowls is if Georgia beats LSU in the SEC championship game but LSU and Alabama remain #1 and #2 in the polls. Then the BCS is forced to take #1 and #2 (SEC) while the Sugar is forced to take the SEC representative (Georgia).
If (until?) that happens then the Sugar Bowl will feature two at-large bids (Houston likely receiving one).
How would shape is this:
BCS national championship #1 LSU (SEC) vs. #2 Alabama (SEC)
Rose Bowl: Oregon (Pac12) vs Michigan State (Big Ten)
Fiesta Bowl: Oklahoma State (Big12) vs. Cincinnati (Big East)
Sugar Bowl: Houston (non-AQ at-large) vs. Oklahoma (Big12)
Orange: Clemson (ACC) vs. Stanford (Pac12)
Boise State and Virginia Tech could also be included depending on who the Sugar and Orange decide to invite.
What happened tonight is setting up something unprecedented in college football: two teams from the same conference being set up to play in the national championship.
At least the one time a team played in the BCS championship game without having won their conference they had won their division (Oklahoma 2004)

Urban Meyer in 2006..
"Florida coach Urban Meyer said Sunday a rematch between Michigan and Ohio State would be cause for immediate change to the BCS."
'If that does happen, all the [university] presidents need to get together immediately and put together a playoff system,' he said. 'I mean like now, January or whenever to get that done.'"
It'll be interesting to see what his take is five years later

It wouldn't be a problem if it was two SEC teams, that's how good they are.

Both have top 25 scoring offenses. In a conference that actually plays defense.

Still, I want to see how they will fare against a good defense outside the SEC.
Unfortunately, won't happen without playoffs.
