Schwartz isn't aggressive. He's a wide 9 DC who primarily rushes 4.

Being aggressive isn't an inherently good thing, otherwise every single DC in the league would be aggressive.

It requires balance. Efficient blitzes and blitzing are more important than just bringing it on every down.

I like the Rex Ryan/Mike Zimmer/Sean McDermott approach to defense.

That's his claim to fame right now. He created cap space. Wowzers. GM of the year.

Let's see what he does with it. And maybe this year he won't totally screw up his 1st round draft pick.

I'm calling it now, when the Raiders go 6-10 next year, everyone is gonna blame Dennis Allen and no one will mention what a terrible job McKenzie has done in 3 years as GM, even though he's the root of the problem.
Lol. He started with the team in a financial mess and without a first and second round draft pick. How exactly were they meant to improve? 2013 was basically his first draft and first chance to actually do anything, a year later you're ready to call him "the root of the problem?" You think you can judge how good a GM is based on one offseason? Do you not realise how stupid you sound right now? The funny thing is they actually have improved this season. They were competitive before Pryor got injured. And also, no one is calling him an amazing GM, that would be stupid, but calling him terrible is equally as stupid.

So I think there will be 10 spots open...

Dallas (as long as they miss the playoffs)
Washington (too bad this drama will come to an end; Shanny gone, RG3 around)
Detroit (Like Dallas, they miss the playoffs, bye coach!)
Minnesota (Quick turnaround: coach of the year candidate to gone the next season)
Tampa Bay (This seems to be improving for Schiano, but the beginning of the season was bad)
Atlanta (Awful season plus all the postseason fails)
Jets (I love Rex Ryan but he is done)
Tennessee (New owner prolly bring a whole lot of new)
Houston (this has already happened lol)
Oakland (like some1 mentioned, totally unjustified, but its the ******* Raiders, what else do you expect?)

That's a ton of crock. So rounds 3-7 don't count anymore? He could have done a better job in those rounds. In fact, his first year, he should have had a leg up on the competition because he had to focus on those later picks more than everyone else.

And they improved? Yeah, they went from the 3rd pick in the draft to likely the 3rd pick in the draft. Great improvement.

My main issue with McKenzie is how he gets a pass when he shouldn't. Yeah he had constraints, but there's no reason why he still couldn't improve the team over the past 2 years and he simply didn't.

Grading him as anything other than a below average GM at this point is stupid, bc he's literally done nothing to improve this roster. In fact, he made it worse. They might have been screwed under Hue Jackson, but they were infinitely more competitive under him during his 1 year in charge.

McKenzie basically ripped that up, and made them worse. We're all assuming he's going to make it better with no evidence that he will other than "he has so much money to spend!"

Give it time. A year from now you'll see.

I've seen enough terrible decision making from him to know what he is. He's in over his head.

Haven't you guys figured it out by know. Dallas is keeping Garret as HC it was announced at the Monday night game. With there crappy play towards the end of the last few seasons and Romo sucking balls. Garrat gets to stay around and so does Romo. So terrible.

Lovie Smith: the black guy whose time the Texans were required to waste in order to hire a candidate they actually want.

I'll hold off on judging Gruden until he gets a real qb. Then we'll know more about him.

Lulz.
Gruden is as much the problem as anyone else.

14 games into the season and that man finally called his first redzone fade to Tyler Eifert.
14 games into the season and we still try running BenJarvus Green-Ellis outside the tackles (or at all).
14 games into the season and we still only run about 3 routes.

When AJ caught his TD vs SD it was the first time in a long time we used tendencies in the opposing defense to get guys open and not just run the same routes regardless of coverage.

Be careful what you wish for. The Giants are kings of the option route and I hate it with a passion.

More complex isn't always better.

No, but some variety is nice. Besides, our WR can't read a defense to save their lives. AJ himself has taken a ton of blame for some of Dalton's INT this year by poorly reading defenses (Cleveland game) and giving up on routes (SD)

I'm not asking for option routes, but exploiting defensive weaknesses.

You forgot last years playoff where he purposely left AJ out of the game plan. At least he admitted to being a idiot last year in that game.

Yeah. Or the weekly fade to Sanu for an incomplete pass.

My Favorite it is when it takes him 1 or 2 quarters before he calls for a pass more then 15 yards down the field. I mean Dalton does not have the greatest deep ball accuracy, but you at least have to keep a defense honest

This is actually a pet peeve of mine. Most if not all plays have at least 1 vertical route in them. If the ball isn't going more than 15 yards it's either bc the defense took it away or the qb just doesn't throw it that far.

I'm guessing it's on Dalton not Gruden.

Of course you think it is on Dalton you have openly been against him from day one. That's no secret.

We have 2 real vertical threats on this team. AJ Green (almost always double covered) and Tyler Eifert (never sent vertical)

We send Mohamed Sanu deep.
Not Marvin Jones. Not Tyler Eifert. Mohamed Sanu.

Last year it was all the rage to send Andrew Hawkins deep. All 5'7' of him.

On the off chance we do send Marvin or Tyler deep, it usually yields good results. The first real deep shot to Eifert I remember was a TD vs Detroit.
Jones on a deep pass has been successful.

We don't attack the seams at all. We have two big athletic TE and we never attack the seams with them. That isn't on Dalton.
