Anyone see the Rams hiring Schwartz or Leslie Frazier as DC? I'm not sure if he had dies with Frazier.

In what way did Chudzinski seem to dramatically improve the team? Cleveland is still a punching bag. I can understand giving him another chance given the lack of a starting quarterback, etc., but I don't get why people would be outraged that the coach of a 4-12 team would be fired.
So you believe that a coach needs to drastically improve his team in his very first year in order to justify his continuing? In addition, you're incorrect claiming that Cleveland was a punching bag this year, they were competitive in a lot of games this year.

If there's a personality clash between Chudzinski and the FO, fine, although if such a thing developed within a year to a fireable degree that makes me think that Cleveland didn't do their homework in the first place. Plus, personally I'm not a huge fan of using personality as an excuse to fire a coach except in extreme circumstances, but that's neither here nor there.

Regarding his relationship with players, what fireable offense do you see? His players seem to like him and don't approve of his apparent firing. What other transgression could he have committed that justifies his firing?

Overall, I don't think anyone is a huge Chudzinski supporter. You're right, there's a lot left to desire from the team's overall performance this year. I don't think many (other than Cleveland fans themselves, perhaps) are "outraged" that he's been canned, but that doesn't mean the firing shouldn't be criticized for being premature, as it was. As far as I see it, the verdict is still out in regards to whether Chudzinski is a good head coach or not. If you're a NFL team hiring a head coach, you should be willing to wait more than a year (outside of extreme circumstances) before you make your final conclusion in regards to a coach's quality. Jumping from coach to coach because they aren't winning enough in their very first year is not a successful strategy.

In case anyone's interested in doing that again, Winston Moss is still looking for a gig!

You and 99.9% of the NFL world. He made the best out of what he had, you can't fault him for the talent deficit they have.

The Browns only lost by less than a touchdown on three different occasions, and one of them was a loss to the Jaguars, hardly a team which you can appear competitive in losing to. They finished the season having lost seven straight games and nine of ten, ultimately finishing the season with a worse record/point differential than they did under Shurmur. I doubt the Browns had expected him to turn the team into a winner in his first year, and they almost certainly made a mistake somewhere in their vetting of him as a potential candidate if they're willing to fire him already, but if they strongly feel that he's not the right man for the job it makes more sense to get rid of him now rather than continue wasting time following the same course. Obviously many good teams have had stability at head coach, but that requires actually finding the right coach first, not merely keeping someone around for a long time.

If the Lions keep Schwartz the league should seriously consider taking the Lions away from the Fords

Point differential isn't the best way to compute competitiveness, games are often closer than the final scoreline indicates. With that being said, your numbers are incorrect; they lost four games by seven points or less, and an additional game by eight. And while you may want to point out the close loss to Jacksonville in an attempt to discredit the Browns' competitiveness, they lost an equally close game to the playoff bound Patriots, which I find hard to believe, given your fan allegiance, you've forgotten about. So they're a bit more competitive than you have tried to portray them.

Secondly, you're correct that teams have to find the right coach, that's obvious. The point that I'm making is that concluding after only one season that a coach must not be the right guy is usually, as in this case, premature.

I hate Pete Carroll, but:

Pete Carroll and Mike Shanahan were both hired prior to the 2010 season and were both given final say over all roster decisions. The hiring of Shanahan was widely applauded. The hiring of Carroll was widely criticized, including noted ESPN columnist Jeffrey Chadiha going so far as to guaranteeing he would be a complete failure in Seattle and be fired and returning to college with a season or two.

Under Carroll, the Seahawks are 37-25 (.597) with 2 playoff victories and appear to be poised for a long run of success. Under Shanahan, the Racial Slurs are 24-39 (.381) with 3 of 4 seasons finishing in the basement and are a complete fiasco regarding the quarterback, coach, and team.

The problems I'd have with McD going to the Browns is 1. replacing an offensive coach with an offensive coach is weird and rarely succeeds and 2. who's their QB?

They'd be putting McD in a position that would be hard to succeed with. They're picking #4 and probably won't have a shot at Bridgewater, so Hoyer is likely going to start again. Who the hell are they even drafting in that spot (I'd lean toward Watson, personally)?

Under Carroll, the Seahawks are 37-25 (.597) with 2 playoff victories and appear to be poised for a long run of success. Under Shanahan, the Racial Slurs are 24-39 (.381) with 3 of 4 seasons finishing in the basement and are a complete fiasco regarding the quarterback, coach, and team.
Chadiha is a hack, and we all know it. Mentioning his name and acknowledging his existence is doing a disservice to journalism (yeah, I fouled, too).

I don't get what Lombardi is doing in Cleveland. The players appear to be in complete denial about the firing.

Jason LaCanfora talking about McDaniels really being the Browns' top target. Wooowwwwee, why do bad things keep happening to Cleveland?

I think if I were a Browns fan, I'd just listen to "The Sound of Silence" on repeat all year long.

Josh Gordon traded for Ryan Mallett in 3...2...
