So the Bucs conducted their 2 interviews yesterday and Thursday in Houston.

It just so happens that the Bengals are in Houston for this weekend. Any coincidence they want to be the first team to contact or may have been in contact with Mike Zimmer?

No offense Bengal fans, but I'm kind of interested to see them lose quickly to see what happens with Mike ZImmer. Really want him in Tampa.

Hate to burst your bubble, but it appears it was Sherman and Jerry Gray whom they interviewed in Houston.

I'm not even a Bucs fan but I got a chill at seeing those two names as possibilities.

I think it makes it all the more impressive what Dungy/Gruden/Kiffin were able to do in the early 2000s.

Gray was to satisfy the Rooney rule.

Dungy/Kiffen were what made the Bucs a play off contender.

Gruden failed miserably at trying to re-build what Dungy started.

All reports point to Romeo Crennel being named the next Chiefs HC. Pretty happy about this one.

Now we just need a DC who knows the scheme/system Romeo runs and an OC who likes to watch Jamaal Charles run for TDs and we'll be in business.

Gray is from Texas, so maybe that's where his home still is. And Sherman was just at Texas A&M, so maybe he was still in the area too.

I think he gave the team enough of a kick in the ass to get over the hump. Dungy had the Andy Reid syndrome and found inventive ways to fizzle in the playoffs every year.

Josh McDaniel's is supposedly back with the Patriots for the playoffs as an offensive assistant and will be named offensive coordinator next season. Makes sense for both parties involved. I feel a little bit better about O'Brien handling the Penn State duties now too.

Hm, maybe a coincidence. But Zimmer's name to Tampa is gaining steam lately, according to Lombardi.

There hasn't been a lot said by the Front Office in Tampa since Monday and have been very tight lipped.

Adam Shefter, who is probably the best in the business at his job, said he doesn't believe Sherman nor Gray will be Tampa's next Head Coach and that they could be targeting a Coordinator from a current playoff team.

My guess: Either Murlakey or Zimmer.

Considering Sherman was just coaching in College Station and prior to that Houston, it's likely that he is still living in the area.

Gray was born and raised in Texas, but don't know if he still lives in state. However he may have been flown in for his interview to kill 2 birds with one stone and to satisfy the Rooney Rule.

It's possible they will make overtures to Zimmer or have been in contact with the Bengals already and will stay put in the event Houston wins but it could also just be a coincidence.

I believe Zimmer is def. on the Tampa radar (I predicted pages back that they would hire Zimmer and he would bring Zampese as his OC).

Mularkey and maybe Greg Williams could be on their short list as well.

I'll put this in perspective on the Glazers: The 1st couple candidates that they link publicly to interview ....usually aren't the intentions they've chosen.

When Dungy was fired, they went for Parcells, interviewed Marvin Lewis and Steve Mariucci. Lewis and Mariucci were all but thought to be the favorites. All of a sudden, they trade for Gruden and name him Head Coach.

When they fired Gruden, several analysts and reporters said keep an eye for Brian Billick to take over. Next day, unexpectadly and surprisingly, they named Raheem Morris head Coach.

So, just because Gray and Sherman have been interviewed, doesn't mean those two are the candidates ownership covets.

So there is rumblings that Hue Jackson could be gone and Reggie McKenzie could bring in Winston Mose as he new HC. I'm against this, I believe in Hue and I love the progress he has made with this offense. My ideal situation is to bring in Moss as the DC and maybe promise him if Hue messes up next season that Moss will get the opportunity take over.

Hue has already set this team back a bit when it comes to drafting talented players early with that Palmer trade.

I'd say he's on thin ice right now.

The Raiders need to fire Hue so the Chiefs can hire him as OC. Sounds like a win/win to me! The Raiders lose Hue and we get Hue! LOCK IT UP.

At this point I don't really care what happens with Hue. He totally ****** up with the Palmer trade. I've said this a million times and I'll say it again...I love Palmer and wanted him in Oakland...but NOT for what we gave up.

I'm 100% sure we could have had the same results with another cheaper QB.

I think it would be a mistake for the Raiders to let Hue Jackson go.

Wow, that would be a shocker if true. But how often does it work when the GM and HC don't come in the same offseason anyways? Always kind of an awkward situation. I still like Hue as a coach and if i was any other team interviewing for a HC i would give him an interview right away. IMO he would be the best candidate as long as you can pair him with a competent DC and don't give him GM powers.

Now that Musgrave is in Minnesota, who would succeed Mularkey if he were to leave?

I'm one of the rare fans that liked the Palmer trade, and if we would have had any type of defense this year we would easily be in the playoffs this year. Hue isn't the problem with this team, the offensive has made major strides the last 2 seasons and it's known throughout the league that Hue knows how to run a offense. If Hue is fired it won't take long for him to get a OC job.

If they actually let Hue go he can get on a plane in Oakland and land in KC the same day.
